I made an appointment to get dentures and was quoted $ 4400.00 and was told I would need to have surgery to remove tori bone in lower jaw. I was told I would get a temporary set, until my gums heal then a permanent set with snaps for implant would be done after one year of healing. The mold for the dentures was made before I had surgery to remove that bone in my lower jaw and gums. The dentist suggested Implants Which I had done along with the bone removal. After surgery the bottom teeth did not fit at all. After many complaints and adjustment fittings they made another temporary set. I was never told that my permanent set was not included in the quote. After 11 months of the temporary dentures, I was in for adjustment issues and asked if they could do the molds for my final dentures and was then told that I would need to pay an additional $4400.00 dollars. The temporary dentures did not have the snaps made in them for the implants. and I feel that the reason he is saying that I have to now pay an additional $4400.00 for the final dentures is because they had to make a second set of temporary ones due to their own mistake. The dentist was very rude and unprofessional and after trying to come to a conclusion he said he would rather I was no longer his patient. Now I have a set of temporary dentures that are of poor fitting, loose, and bulky without the snaps for implants. In researching the prices of immediate dentures through other dentists and the Dental Association the common price for immediate dentures is around $300 to $ 1900 for the complete set, not the $4.400 hundred he charged knowing that I would be throwing them away after a year or less. Since my last visit I am unable to wear the dentures due to gagging and gum sores due to the poor fit. I have had to miss many functions due to the situation he has put me thru and embarrassment of being in public this way. Without the implant snaps I could not keep these as a final set if I wanted to at this point.
