My experience with this establishment on 8/24/23, has been extremely disappointing, and I believe that they have engaged in what I perceive to be unethical business practices that warrant investigation and intervention. I visited this Meineke location after my check engine light turned on, Meineke informed me that they would conduct an initial diagnosis test for a fee of about $170. However, the situation escalated when Meineke informed me that they needed to disassemble the valve body and perform additional tests to identify the root cause of the issue. This came at an exorbitant cost of $800-$900. After this invasive procedure, they were unable to provide a conclusive diagnosis or pinpoint the specific problem. They presented me with two costly solutions: either replacing the valve body or replacing the entire transmission, both exceeding $3,500. Disappointed and concerned, I contacted a reputable transmission shop, which, to my astonishment, strongly advised against pursuing Meineke's recommendations. Subsequently, they successfully diagnosed and resolved the issue for a fraction of the cost, totaling $1,478.56. I paid Meineke $1,028.65 & received no diagnosis, solution, or resolution. This stark contrast in service and cost-effectiveness between Meineke and the transmission shop highlights a clear discrepancy. I am deeply unsatisfied with the experience at Meineke, as I was charged a substantial sum for a service that did not yield any results, diagnosis, or resolution. The transmission shop's ability to promptly identify and rectify the issue further emphasizes the inadequacy of Meineke's services. Despite my efforts to address the issue with Meineke, they failed to follow through on their promise to have the regional manager contact me for a possible resolution. I believe Meineke should be held accountable for these questionable practices, and I am seeking a refund or adjustment of costs for the unjustifiable charges incurred during my visit.
