In July 2022 I contracted with the Company to build a screened porch and install columns on my front porch. They gave me a quote for $37K for the porch and $3K for the columns and requested a $9800 deposit with work planning to start mid-August. **** *********** (sub contractor) came out and provided me with the attached picture for approval before proceeding with finalized plans. I did not approve the design as it completely missed the mark and asked that all work stop until I got a quote for what I thought we discussed. Once the new quote was provided, I said that I did not want to proceed with the project and requested a refund since no work was started and no materials were ordered. I indicated that I would still proceed with the column installation. The company refunded me all but $3K as they said that the retainer was already paid to **** *********** and that the build designs were already approved, finalized and stamped. The Company would not provide me with any evidence of approved plans and I believe they do not exist as I never approved any final design. Additionally, the contract never broke out what amount was not refundable to a sub-contractor. All I received was the attached computer rendering which is completely useless to me and not worth $3K. I agreed to pay $500 for the 1/2 hour of time spent onsite for measurements unless they provided me with evidence that the design plans were completed, however the Company said that I would have to pay $2K more for them to release the plans to me and **** *********** has not responded to me at all to let me know the status or confirm what I was being told.

      Hi *******
I wanted to respond to the above review you left for Dube's General Contracting. We won't get into great detail because we believe it is confidential. But we did follow the process with you just like the many other clients with service on similar projects in Southern NH communities. We appreciate the feedback, but when you're writing on these platforms, there are two sides to every story to be told to a large audience of consumers. Dube's General Contracting strives to enforce these processes to ensure our customers feel comfortable before they commit to us for their potential projects, and I'd like to say we did the same for you.
Unfortunately, the change of scope and design you requested placed you above your proposed budget, which is OK. Once your CC contacted us, we submitted the documents you agreed to. We offered you credit for the money paid and gave you credit which you accepted. We also finished the work as part of the scope of work and contract. Please remind yourself that after both the above items were completed, you initiated a credit card reversal for these monies you paid as part of your contract terms. After reviewing all the records we introduced to your credit card and financial institution, they decided that we did everything right and reversed the funds to us, which should align with the obvious. But that was not enough. You, in return, went on multiple platforms and bashed Dube's General Contracting and its affiliate **** ***********, which did nothing wrong in the situation besides providing a service requested by both parties.
So in closing, ******, again, we appreciate the opportunity, and, unfortunately, we could not help you with your project. Still, we should not have been targeted with this type of review. We wish you luck in your future endeavors when remodeling your home.
      Sincerely Dube's General Contracting

      Complaint: ********

My name is not ******. Your response just confirms your company lacked the attention to detail necessary to complete my project and disregard for your customers. My review of both Dube's and **** *********** was fair and based on my personal experience. I don't consider them an "innocent" 3rd party when they ignored every attempt to contact them after Dube's blamed them for the reason I could not be refunded the rest of my deposit. My CC company did not find in your favor but rather could not reverse the charges as several months had already past given my project was so delayed. I never disputed monies that I agreed to paid. I initially paid $9800 as a deposit and you applied $3800 to my front porch project and refunded me $3K after leading me to believe I would get $6K back. Once I knew I got screwed over after you secured a partial project from me, I looked to the CC company to refund me the $2500 (compromising for 1/2 hour of your time) of the $3K you stole from me arguing that **** *********** was already paid this retainer. Learn to take responsibility for your mistakes and handle criticism from your customers. At the very least, make an attempt to get their name correct and don't be so petty as to block them from Facebook for providing a negative review.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ********

      Good Afternoon,
We have already responded to this complaint on multiple occasions through multiple platforms and provided all the current and past information that involves this complaint. As requested, we have complied with all parties involved, from the client's reviews, their credit card company, our financial institute, and their institutions. We have no further information or dialogue to add to this response. It seems the individual complaining is just copying and pasting their google review information and looking for some issue with our company. The filed complaint from their CC company was proven to be awarded in our favor due to the same information and evidence provided during their independent investigation. We have no further details to go back and forth on this situation or the individual. We have moved on as a Company, taken our losses, and wish not to expound on this unless required. In our last response, we uploaded multiple supporting documents explaining the process and actions taken during this complaint period. We wish them the best of luck on future endeavors that do not include Dubes General Contracting.
