I bought a New Used 2016 ****** Frontier From Leavitt's Auto in ******** **. The day it was purchased was on 3/14/2024. On the way home, the check engine light came on. I got it checked the next day at ********** and it gave the error code P0420. This can indicate either a bad Exhaust manifold Gasket, or it needs a new Catalytic converter. So I brought my truck down to Leavitts Auto from my home location which is ~80 miles away. It was dropped off 3/18/2024 and picked up 3/25/2024. They had a truck for a week. Said they changed sparkplugs and O2 Sensors but I have no papertrail of those repairs being done, because they were "On the house" Then on the way home again, the check engine light came back. It's giving the same code (P0420) **************** now for a bad sensor (P0101). I got my truck looked at by mechanic and he ran a engine diagnostic and sent me those results via email. So I have VIN# and dates with Mileage Stamped indicating that I have not been able to drive my truck far or long without this light coming back.Given this, How can I even be sure they did the repairs they said they did? And How do I get them to go good on there 30 or ***** mile warranty? Which is supposed to be 50% Cost and 50% labor on repairs. and is there any way to extend my warranty for the distance I've had to travel to get my truck repaired, but not done properly. If its 80 miles one way, and I've done it once. Will have to do it again. That's going to be an extra 320 miles, can the warranty be extended 320 miles to make sure the problem gets dealt with? Also, is there any ramifications with the fact the truck got inspected with a ************* inspection, which is suppose to be better than ****** inspection do to high emission standards, and this check engine code directly says "Will not likely pass emissions test"

Better Business Bureau: While Leavitt Auto did replace the Catalytic Converter. It wasn't without the help of the BBB and a mechanic informing me how to double check work got done, and to ask for invoices. On 4/1 when I dropped off the truck and they gave me the loaner car. ***** called me back to say the truck was done and I Could get it 4/2, So I asked who did the work. ***** Said *******. Upon calling ******* they said the truck wasn't worked on and that nothing was done. Despite ***** telling me it was done. Called back Leavitts auto and got ****, who said they were ordering ****** OEM. The next piece ordered was a ****** Catalytic Converter, which wasn't Carb compliant for my truck. Had to inform them of the incompatibilities.

As well as to mention the loaner car they let me use wasn't inspected, I had to put in power steering fluid for it to be managable to steer without lurches, and replace the battery so I didn't get stranded at work. They did pay me back for the money I invested into there uninspected loaner. But it didn't feel good to hear from my mechanic that if I get pulled over with there ride I'd be at fault.

Also to mention after getting my truck back a week later, With the new Catalytic converter, I ended up with this weird code on my speedometer. My mechanic was able to read the codes and figured out it was a corroded positive terminal. It was a 30 second fix that they otherwise ignored, so while they fixed one code, they gave me 8 others. It's better now, but it left a bad taste in my mouth, between making sure they ordered the right part, the lack of service to their loaner car, and the lack of preventative care.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      Sincerely,

      *****************************

When I initially looked at the vehicle through photos and videos, that one of the co-owners sent me, everything looked great. When I received the vehicle, that was not the case, the entire undercarriage of the vehicle had very a large amount of rust. I’m from Alaska and have a 20 year old truck and it doesn’t even have half that amount of rust. I had already purchased the vehicle and couldn’t return because of my location so I just kept it. Something still didn’t seem right though, so the day after I received it, I took it to get an inspection from a very reputable company with multiple locations and I’ve dealt with for years and I know the owner to be a good man. After the vehicle was inspected, I received a bill for over $7000. There was multiple safety issues to include multiple leaks. I contacted the owner and informed him of these issues, and he outright told me he would not pay for it even though the contract said he would. After going back-and-forth with him all these issues, he finally agreed to pay less than a third of the cost. This company is not a reputable company and only cares about selling vehicles and not about the customer. Be careful when purchasing a vehicle from this company and if you can, get an inspection on the vehicle first.

      Complaint: ********

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because:

Yes, the company initially provided me with a check for $2100. However, they knew of these issues on the truck before they sold it to me. I am seeking a check for the amount of another $2000 which would cover half of what it cost to fix the truck. Any business with a reputable mechanic would’ve known that these issues were there they just chose not to fix it.

      Sincerely,

      ******** ******

I took Delivery on a used SUV on January 18, 2023 from this establishment. I had test drove the vehicle a few days prior and spoke with the salesman (Dean) about some issues that I discovered and made a deal that I would purchase the truck for their asking price as long as said issues were address. Knowing that the vehicle was overpriced (documents can be submitted to show what the actual retail value of the vehicle was supposed to be) I made the deal under the impression that I would have a safe functioning truck for my family. Everything that was promised was not addressed. The vehicle could not even pass my state’s safety inspection. I reached back to Dean, and he took the truck back, after over a week called me to say everything was fixed. While most issues were addressed and the truck passed inspection, I was never given any documentation of the work performed. I requested it and was promised it via email and after multiple attempts, I was ignored.

Good afternoon, My name is **** *********, and my Cell is ************ On October 17th, with Leavitt Auto & Truck in Plaistow, NH, I put down a $200 down payment for a 2009 Volkswagen Touareg. I had noticed a parking break latch was loose and a TPS sensor was bad. They had to send it in to a Volkswagen dealership. On November 2nd, I picked up the vehicle and traded in my 2020 Ram 1500. They Had agreed to pay the $29,499.09. Unpaid as of 11/30 Vehicle Loan Payoff Issues: Two payments out of my account for the Ram on 11/4 and 11/18, as well as another soon to be charge on Friday most likely. Leavitt auto paid me 598.30 for the two missing payments (my step dad was with me on location as witness, as well as a step-brother) said they would send out the check last Friday. The email with some sort of financial info emailed to me from the dealer says the payment wasn’t sent out until yesterday. However this info does not include any tracking or check numbers. Purchased Vehicle Issues: On November 3rd, the 2009 Volkswagen had 2 check engine error codes come up. A Catalytic Convertor emission fail, and a fuel system leak. Leavitt Auto took in the vehicle on 11/7 to conduct repairs. I received the vehicle back yesterday on 11/29 and today the same Catalytic convertor error code popped back up on my vehicle. I don’t know if they actually did most of the work they claimed as I have not been given any ,maintenance records or anything of the sort. From November 7th until November 18th, I used an enterprise rental costing me $629.54 out of my own pocket. They did provide a loaner vehicle after that however. For the entire month, whenever I called I was quickly hushed away 90% of the time with “It will be ready tonight, we will call you” with returning phone calls and texts being almost non-exsistent.
