We booked a stay with Anchorage Inns and Suites through hotels.com. The stay was booked for Thursday, August 25th. It was booked on the same day as the actual hotel stay. So, no cancellations were allowed. The booking was through hotels.com (aka Expedia). When we arrived at the hotel, just before 11, there was a sign taped to the door saying that no check-ins were allowed after 10 pm. At the time I booked the hotel, there was no information on either their hotels.com site or my confirmation emails that check-in after 10pm was not available. As we booked the hotel late, we knew that we would arrive late and would not have booked if this was communicated. The night we arrived, we called hotels.com to see if there was anything they could do to help check-in. I spent roughly 2 hours on the phone with them as they tried to get in touch with someone. Hotels.com requested a refund, the refund was not approved. The next day, Anchorage Inn informed hotels.com that we had arrived at the wrong hotel, and that someone from their staff was there. This could not be possible as we waited outside the hotel for almost 2 hours while a hotels.com agent tried to get in contact with someone from the hotel. We also walked next door to the ****** *******, where the person working that desk informed us that this happened often. I have reached out to Anchorage Inn twice via phone, and 2 times via email. I have never received a call or an email back. I'm attaching to this claim the listings from hotels.com that do not show any parameters around check-in time. I'm also attaching my multiple attempts to reach this business for a refund. My desired outcome, at a bare minimum, is a refund for services not provided. Ideally we would be refunded for services not provided and be compensated for the alternate, significantly more expensive, hotel we were forced to book late that evening.
