I bought a really expensive ($8,000) Thermidorian stove/oven from State Street Discount, and just after the warranty expired, the oven stopped working. Is there any remedy?Business response

We've responded to this compliant with the customer via google reviews when it was first lodged. The unit was purchased 2/27/20 and has a 2 yr warranty that expired on 2/27/22. We can not loan gas ranges. We tried to help but Thermador will only discuss the issue with the customer.

Bought a $8,000 dual-fuel Thermador oven with a 3-year warranty thinking that if anything went wrong, I could rely on State Street to help deal with it. Wrong. 3.5 years in, the circuit board of the oven went along with the digital display. I’ve been without that $8,000 oven for 3 months now with no replacement or fix in sight. I get that the repair company may be out of parts, but State Street didn’t even offered a temporary replacement to get me through the holiday season. Never again. What a rip off - State Street and Thermador. Save your money.
Response from the Manager week ago
*******, I am sorry you are having trouble with the range. I sent an email yesterday to our rep and had our service coordinator call Thermador about the issue with the range. They really wouldn’t speak to us about the service call except to tell us the unit is well out of warranty and the service issue is between you and them. I hope it is accurate that you at least are able to use all the gas burners and just the oven is down so you can at least still cook. I am still hopeful the rep can find out what is happening with the back ordered part for the range. I will be in touch again.Initial Complaint

I was sold the wrong air conditioner a window one by Mr. Jim S******* ,we wanted a wall unit. Our installer came and said it a window air unit. We call Mr. S******* and he said it can be install both ways and sent us specification on it. We called him before the warranty was up. the next year. Saying the outside case was rusting on the unit. He sent us a email that he would look into it. and to send pictures of the case . Mr. S******* is no longer with the company so he never got back to us. I called customer service they said the warranty was up. and not cover for being put in the wall. I called GE about the coverage and they could not identify the specification we received from our sales person Mr. S******* .Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/28) */ Please provide an Invoice number. I cannot find a sale under the name address or phone number. We do not ship products to Maryland so customer must have taken it with them. Without this information i would have to assume the unit was a slide out chassis air conditioner which is designed for in wall use or window use by assembling the supplied side curtain kit. We do not design the units and the manufacturer supplies instructions to install through the wall. The manufacturer also supplies the warranty. The complaint should only go to the manufacturer. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/03/02) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The invoice # ********. It was installed at my home in Hampton NH. We have a Email from our salesman( who is no longer with you) saying it can be put in the wall. I recently sent his email and the unit # ********* and Model ********** to GE. They couldn't verify what the salesman sent us. But the unit # I sent is not a wall unit. WE would of not installed the window unit in the wall if the salesman did not ok it. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/03/04) */ Thanks for the invoice number. This unit was taken on 7/21/20 and the invoice clearly marked as a window air condtioner XXXXXBTU smart window a/c. The unit should have been returned and exchanged per our store policy if there was an issue during the allowable timeframe. To be clear, this is a 220 volt window unit according to the manual. The installation instructions are also included with the unit and the installer is to follow those to maintain the validity of the manufacturers guarantee. In my opinion this unit should be used in a window at the current residence or sold by private sale. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/03/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) WHY did Jim tell us it was a wall or window unit. We spent a lot of time with him on the day we order it. WHY when we called Jim on the day our installer read the instruction told us it was a window unit. WHY When we talked to Jim to ask if we should return it. He said it was a wall unit and sent us a copy of the specification highlighted in the Email. PLEASE CHECK Jim S******* files. We have casement windows in our home and we would not buy a window unit. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/03/15) */ This unit was taken on 7/21/20 and the invoice clearly marked as a window air condtioner XXXXXBTU smart window a/c. The unit should have been returned and exchanged per our store policy if there was an issue during the allowable timeframe. It IS 8 MOS BEYOND the manufacture warranty and its almost 2 years old. I am sorry but I cannot help with that unit.
