    Portsmouth Chevrolet is continuously offering their customers an extended warranty from ********* Protection that is for lack of better words, a scam. I’ve have recently become a victim of this warranty and I would advise this company to stop partnering with them. I’ve read through hundreds of complaints on Consumer affairs and complaints filed with the BBB. Chevrolet has to be aware of this scam, yet they still sell it to their customers. My car has been sitting at Portsmouth Chevrolet since Christmas. I purchased the warranty through this dealership. Provided all the necessary paperwork and I can’t seem to get a straight answer from either company. This has cost me thousands already.

    In 2015 I purchased a new Suburban from Portsmouth Chevy. At the time they sold me a $1325 Extended Service Plan for 7 years or 100, 000 miles. I tried to have a item fixed and it was denied by the First Extended Service Corp and they said it was Portsmouth's problem. They quoted sections of the contract that are not on the original contract. Do not buy from them.

    ****** ******* was told by First Extended Service Corp that the vehicle needed to be brought the Salem Ford car dealership for inspection. ****** was told that no claim can be processed without following the simple instructions. ****** then stated that he was going to just fix it and fight for the money after the fact. ****** was told not to follow through with these actions and that if the correct actions were not taken the claim would not be covered. ****** decided to fix these items himself without using his extended service contact.

    That description was not accurate. Before any work was done I called First Extended Service and they told me that a mechanic needed to call them with the diagnosis, they never said were it was needed to be fixed. The mechanic spent 2 hours to diagnose both issues and called them. At that point they said I needed to take it to Salem Ford, not the "selling Dealer" as the contract states. I live more than40 miles from Portsmouth Chevrolet, the selling dealer, so that was not the problem. Since the mechanic had the car in parts and was into it for 2 hours of labor I told him to fix the issue. I assumed that Extended Service would stand by its original contract. In addition Extended Service never said if I followed through with the repair it wouldn't cover it.
