I have had two conversations with the owner *************************, American Used Auto Parts. He will not reimburse us the $1,000 we paid for the 5.3 L engine we purchased. The head in the engine was fractured and the engine block had a crack in it as well. We found that the engine had a crack in it after our mechanic had installed it and put all the fluids in it and the engine was pouring out coolant through the crack. Not only did we spend $1,000 for the engine, we have spent time and money to install it only to find out the head and engine block are cracked. This was all explained to the owner ************************* on the phone on 5/23/2024 and 5/29/2024. I explained that the engine was completely faulty and could not have been sold to anyone except to a company that buys cores or scrap metal. The owner ************************* refuses to reimburse us any money for the engine even though it is 100% junk. I have attached a picture of the cracked engine.Business response

On 4/17/2024 ***************************** bought a motor for a 2005 Yukon 5.3 at that time she was
informed and signed that there was a 30day parts only warranty. This also had our standard
warranty with it, that shows.
Engine Guarantee Any engine that has been taken apart or tampered with voids all
warranty. Used engines are guaranteed not to have a cracked block, head or bad c
crankshaft. Parts external to the cylinder block and the cylinder head(s) (i.e., carburetor,
distributor, fuel pump, throttle body, intake manifold, etc.) are not warranted. These are
left on the engine for the installers convenience only. Used engines guaranteed against
rod knock, excessive smoking, and excessive oil consumption. It is recommended the
buyer replace the timing belt and rear main seal and inspect gaskets prior to installation.
The use of OE approved fluids and lubricants are required. Engines must be installed by a
licensed repair facility and an ASE or OEM certified mechanic. All conditions listed under
terms of sale (above) apply.
There installer called us on 5/21/24 and told us they had taken the th motor a part and sent
the cylinder heads off tobe checked and cleaned. At this point it voids all warranty as they
took apart the motor and broke the seals of the motor. The mechanic *******************, under
stood this as he worked in the dealerrship at OnePoint and knows these procedures that
everyone follows. After emailing and talking back and forth with ***** she still did not
want to have the answer that they voided the warranty and also were out side the 30 day
parts warranty that she signed for. WE have enclosed copys
