I have been making payments on two accounts with ******************** Law , I have all proof of this through bank statements and deductions from there. One of the credit card accounts , they sued me so I went to court and there is a court order stating I will make voluntary payments. And I have done so making payments every month . The other credit card account I also have been making payments usually dealing with ******* ******** . I email also to ******* confirming everything and speaking with her on phone .Ive asked for a payment history showing all payments I have made so I can see if their payment history matches all my bank deductions taken by Schreiber Law . I have yet to receive this payment list but I continue to receive harassing in nature letters stating they havent received any recent payments from me . Id like to receive the payment history list I was promised and to have Schreiber Law discontinue sending me letters stating they havent received any recent payments from me because that is false . Thank you.

I am an employer representative that has been calling this firm repeatedly for the past 5 days to resolve an urgent issue with an employee's wage garnishment. Money was incorrectly sent to this firm by our payroll provider instead of to the State Marshal who served the notice, and now Schreiber will not pick up the phone or return (MANY) calls to resolve. These funds belong with the state of CT at this point, NOT with the firm. This is causing major issues for the employee, who now appears to not be paying his garnishment, and as the employer, who now appears to not be deducting the funds, which is entirely false and can result in major penalties on both sides. How can a debt collector not answer the phone to collect a debt? It truly does not make sense. There is no email address to contact this firm and no menu option to speak to an operator or receptionist, therefore I have no way of retrieving answers for both the State of CT judicial system as well as the State Marshal.

      Dear ******** *******:

Please allow this to confirm receipt of your communication and thank you for reaching out.

In reviewing the matter, I see that a wage garnishment was approved against one of your employees and that your office incorrectly sent the garnishment payments to our office, rather than the State ********, who is due a fee for all payments remitted. Additionally, I see that this error has been corrected for future withholdings, and that those would be sent directly to the ********.

I also see that you spoke to our office on September 13, 2024. Since then, our office has been in contact with the State ******** and has handled the fees that are due to the ******** as a result of the garnishment.

Paid settlement on 8/16/24 and was told paperwork was filed with the district court. Was specifically told it was done or sent out on 9/3/24 but the court still does not have it as of end of day on 9/12/24. Ive requested the paperwork multiple times. It has not been sent. Ive sent emails but get no response. I called in and was specifically told to email (again) and still no response 3 days later.Additionally, whenever I call its difficult to get into the people Ive spoken with. Ive left voicemail messages but get no calls back. On one day I tried to call into ***** ****** after he had not returned calls for over a week. I called again at end of day after not receiving a call back all day. It was 4:45pm and ******* answered. She told me she told ***** I was on the phone and to hold & he'd be with me soon. I waited and waited. The offices close at 5:30pm and soon after the call ended and the entire time waiting was for nothing. Then the next day, no call back either! Also, Ive made payments before that somebody forgot to submit and then 5 days later I call in to remind them and they say, oops I forgot to actually submit it. Overall, very unprofessional and the trust has evaporated.I have had 3 accounts here and paid off 2 so far. I am now working on the last one. Ive operated in good faith but lately it seems like Schreiber Law has not. Ive let things slide but it seems like I am being walked all over and it fees like pulling teeth to get an answer or anything done. Perhaps Schreiber Law is busy, but still this is too much and its becoming obnoxious. In fact its come to me now having to file a complaint just to get Schreiber to do their job and call me & file the paperwork.I have notes, emails, and supporting documents I can provide upon request.

      Dear ***** ********:

Please allow this to confirm receipt of your communication.

I would like to provide an overview of your account in our office.

You had a ************** account ending in xxxxxxxxxxxx1211. The account was opened on or about March 11, 2016, and charged-off on or about October 16, 2019, in the amount of $2,644.07.

Suit was filed and Judgment entered on June 14, 2022, in the amount of $2,744.07. A settlement agreement was reached to satisfy the judgment and close the account for payment of $1,920.85. The final payment was made on August 19, 2024, in the amount of $1,080.57.

Upon clearance of the final payment, our legal staff printed the satisfaction of judgment and provided the document for review and signing by a firm attorney. The review and signing was completed on September 12, 2024. Attached is a copy of the satisfaction, which has been sent to the court for filing.

I apologize for any miscommunication on the September 3rd call where a specialist advised that the satisfaction had been taken care of. That was the date that the document was printed, but still needed to go through our internal review. I believe you had a follow-up conversation with a specialist and were advised of such.

      Complaint: 22277860

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because:

I request a specific person who I can contact for my account. Preferably somebody who will answer the phone or return a voicemail message (or email).

I have had many issues. To give a clearer understanding I want to explain.

With this specific account, here's a better timeline.

I called into SL (Schreiber Law) on 8/16/24 @ 10:23am and paid up my account a month earlier than the agreement was scheduled. I made the payment with ******* as ***** ******* was not available. ******* said she would have ***** call me back as I had some questions about how what happens next, and some other questions on my other payment plan with the last debt I have remaining. There was no call back all day so later on I called ***** around 2:45pm and left a voicemail requesting a call back. I never received a call back that day, nor did I get a call back on that following Monday. I then tried to call in on Tues, 8/20 and left ***** another voicemail for a call back. I never received any call back for days, so on Thurs, 8/22 I called in and left another voicemail. Since I had not received a call back or been able to reach *****, I tried to call in again on Thur, 8/22 at around 4:40pm and I reached *******. ******* said she would notify ***** that I was on hold. ******* came back and told me that ***** knew I was on hold, to wait, not go anywhere, and he would be with me soon. I waited on hold... and waited... and waited. I realized SL closes at 5:30pm so I figured he would answer by/before then but he did not. Come about 5:40pm the hold music ended and it disconnected the call on me. The following day on Fri, 8/23 I never received any call back. I finally got a hold of ***** by calling in on Tues, 8/27/24 @ 1:42pm as no attempts to contact me where made before then. On 8/27/24 I made another payment. It took me weeks to reach ***** and never once did he attempt a single call back (or respond via email). Then on 9/4/24 I tried to ask a question about my payment plan on my last account with ******************* ************ *1337) and was told that the *** letter was processed on the recently paid off MCM (Synchrony) account on 9/3/24. Then I checked online, but it was not posted that anything had been sent to the court. I checked with Stoughton District Court's clerks office on Fri, 9/6/24 but they said that they have not received anything. I left a message on Mon, 9/9/24 that went unanswered & not returned. I called in again on 9/10/24 and made another payment. Again on 9/10/24 I was told that the *** letter was processed and mailed out, so I should have it any day now if I have not yet received it. I requested the *** letter via email and was specifically told to send the email a certain way with my verification info in the email. The email went unanswered, and so did any subsequent follow up emails. Nobody even responded by saying it has not been processed yet... NOTHING. In the past, I have sent emails for paperwork that have gone unanswered as it seems that some **** use email and maybe others do not? Then on 9/13/24 I called in to make another payment and was told by another *** named ****** ******* that the *** form was printed, put on a desk for the lawyer to sign, but the lawyer has not been there, so the form has been sitting there since 9/3/24 and is not signed. ****** apologized profusely and stated that he will re-print the letter and will see to it that it goes to another lawyer to get signed ****. I sent another email request as I was told that the form would get signed right away and then it would get emailed to me. However, nobody emailed me the paperwork. Soon after, I received a mailing with the cover sheet letter but the mailing did not actually include the attached signed *** form in it! Overall, it seems like nothing gets done right, nobody answered their phone or returns voicemail messages, almost nobody responds to emails, and I am pulling teeth to get anything done. Then if it is done, I have to cross my fingers that it is actually done and done correctly. I am not entirely sure why it is happening this why. It seems that perhaps SL has taken on too much of a case load to process, and is having a lot of difficulties.

Now the problem is that nobody has filed the paperwork with ************************* (MCM) to notify them that the account was settled/paid. When I contacted ***, they stated that they have not been notified by SL and need to be notified in order to update my credit ***ort and send me a letter stating that they have my account as $0 due and settled. *** stated that this should have been sent to them already. They have sent an "internal communication" to SL requesting the paperwork. Hopefully it gets processed. I am looking to clean up my credit and this is important to me.

Please know that I do appreciate you sending me the paperwork here on BBB complaint. I wonder if I would ever have received it otherwise.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ********

In May of 2014 I created a payment plan with this company for an overdue account. Approximately two months ago, I realized the payment was still being deducted from my checking account. I contacted the law firm and spoke to a legal assistant who was assigned to my case back in 2014. He informed me I still had a very high balance, which was confusing considering I have been paying for more than 10 years. It was eventually figured out that the post settlement interest rate was applied incorrectly to my account. Instead of 2.1% it was applied as 12.1%.I am now clearly owed money and this law firm has made it zero attempt to rectify the situation, update me on the situation, or provide me with any information. This conflict has been going on for approximately two months. They never wasted any time deducting money from my account monthly however, now that I am owed money, they are barely in communication with me. The only time we are in communication is when I spend hours on the phone trying to get in touch with a human being. If the roles were reversed, they would be in contact with me incessantly.

I received a phone call from ********************* of the law firm this morning. Previously, he informed me I was owed a refund. Today, he informed me I still had a balance. He was speaking in circles. I have seen zero paperwork or written information about my case. Id like to be able to see their math because something isnt adding up. Also, the binding document I signed when this all started (10 years ago) said a review would be done in 11 months. That never happened. I have literally not heard from this business in ten years. I attempted to email ***** last year and got no reply. I would appreciate seeing some documentation proving theyre actually doing the math on my case. ***** offered to just settle the account today but if Im owed money, which I believe I am, Id like it back. I feel that this business and ***** hide behind legal terms and scare tactics when they really should be providing the consumer with information about their case. Id like written information regarding my account.

On 9/2/24 I emailed *********************, who is in charge of my account. I requested a financial statement for my payment history and a breakdown of the account with both post settlement interest rates. ***** informed me during our last conversation that I still had a balance but that their firm would be willing to settle the account due to the error. Before I agree to anything, I believe that its only fair that I have a financial breakdown of my account. ***** has not responded to my email (I have emailed him on three separate occasions and have never received any responses) nor has he made any attempts to contact me. His lackadaisical attitude towards my account has caused me exhaustive amounts of anxiety and stress.

      Dear ***************************:

Please allow this to confirm receipt of your communication.

I would like to provide an overview of your account in our office.

You had a ************************ Citi account ending in xxxxxxxxxxxx2842. The account was opened on or about April 24, 2006, and charged-off on or about April 19, 2010, in the amount of $2,074.10.

Judgment entered on April 18, 2014. A payment arrangement was agreed upon whereby you would make payments in the amount of $20.00 per month until the account was paid in full. The first payment was made on May 30, 2014.

Following your complaint, your account was reviewed, because of the believed issue regarding the post-judgment interest awarded on your account. Due to a clerical error, the post-judgment interest was set at a higher percentage than awarded. The account was further reviewed and the firm ran a true value, determining the correct accrual of post-judgment interest on the account, while noting the monthly payments that were being made.

A copy of that true value document was provided to **************** and is attached to this response. As a result of that review, it was determined that **************** was due a refund in the amount of $54.25. A copy of that refund letter and check have been attached to this response.

Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or concerns at ************ or **********************.

Received a wage garnishment order that says started 10/07/20 - when CT courts where closed due to the virus. This is a scam right there. This debt is also past the 6 year limitation from the Credit owner ************ My 1st time seeing the Judgement is from an email at work 7-19-2024. Never received a notice of any kind in the mail that I would be able to go to court and show that back in 2020 $35 a month was not leaving me much for food after rent car insurance and gas, heat, electric and doctors bills. My income would of qualified for any & all FEES to be waved at that time. But none of that matters if I'm not notified in any way about court date and now this is starting for the 1st time more than 6 years after the debt was from *********** was charged-off and closed. My credit reports no longer even show my *********** account because it's been closed for more than 7 yrs. What is happening is this Group is illegally re-aging the Account that is past CT limitations to falsely trying to collect a debt from a *********** closed account. I have never done any contract with Schreiber Law or ***************************** who is listed on the wage garnishment order execution. It looks like this is erroneous reporting. There have been no demand letter from Schreiber Law, LLC attorneys office, no arrangements have been made with any company. So I do have a right to request proof of validation that a debt with *********** is still owed. I am also requesting sending me all the information used in the court 10/07/20 Also a copy of the served court date from the ******* that never handed me a summons to be in court. Not allowing me the right to remove this as I see it was also signed 6/25/2024 by your Lawyers associate ******************************** on the wage execution order with another date of 7/13/2024 - where the order was 1st done for $35 weekly back in 10/30/20 but I was never notified of any court date - Again , It looks like this is erroneous and re-aging scam.

I had been paying a debt off with Schreiber Law Firm since July 2022 on a Best Buy Card I hadn't paid in a long time. I was making monthly payments until November of 2023, when I became unemployed. I suffer from severe anxiety issues and the person I had been dealing with had tried to guilt me in the past when I had to change my payment date, so I chose to contact them by their message section on their website to explain the situation and to specifically contact me via email due to my anxiety in dealing with the situation. They continued to call me even though I was specific about the situation and now I fear I might be sued for the remaining amount I owe since I haven't made a payment in a while. I just want to be contacted VIA EMAIL so they can verify that I have tried to contact them and want to try and set up a plan to pay off the remaining amount. I've paid about 80% of what I owed and I have a job now so I can make payments. Although funny enough, I contacted the Credit Bureaus to see if I could have the debt removed from my report and to my surprise, it's gone, which leads me to believe that I might have been swindled into paying off a debt that is actually time barred in my state.

I would like to file a complaint against Schreiber Law in regards to the attached documents. Docket number: ********6024859S. I set up auto payments with Schreiber Law after our court appearance 9/21/22. They were supposed to be charging my account $35 every week beginning 10/7/22. They were doing this and suddenly stopped. I was not informed why or that they would be taking action against me. They did not follow up with email, a phone call, or letter in regards to this. I will happily resume payments if they remove the Financial Institution Execution they filed. If this is not resolved I will be countersuing. I recently found my records that clear me of part of this debt. I am hope to hear from them soon!

      Dear Ms. *********

I would like to provide an overview of your account in our office.

You had a ******** Bank account ending in xxxxxxxxxxxx2094. The account was charged-off on or about April 30, 2022, in the amount of $4,533.93. Our client, ******** Bank, placed the account in our office on May 5, 2022.

Our office reviewed the account and sent an Initial Demand Letter to Ms. ********* on or about May 20, 2022.

Our office filed suit on August 5, 2022. A stipulated judgment was entered on September 21, 2022, with an order to pay $35.00 per week.

Ms. ********* made payments beginning on September 16, 2022, and has paid a total of $1,915.00 t*****s her account.

The last payment t*****s the account was made on July 21, 2023 and the firm moved to file for a bank garnishment.

Upon receiving the complaint, the firm’s Senior Account Specialist, Peter G****, spoke to Ms. ********* and determined that she wasn’t receiving our non-sufficient fund letters to inform her that payments were not going through, as she had an updated address and the firm did not receive returned mail.

As agreed, the firm did not have the garnishment served by the County Sheriff’s Office and instead, have set Ms. ********* up on a new payment arrangement in the amount of $70.00 bi-weekly.

      Complaint: ********

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because: In a letter addressing to you on January 25th, 2023, following your response to the CFPB report that I made against you, you were referring to two individuals Mr. ****** and me. As I had told you in that response letter, I am not sure who Mr. ****** is and never had business with that Mr. ****** you’re referring to in that letter. I am very confused because you said “The notice was not returned to the law firm as undeliverable, and the law firm did not receive a dispute or validation request from Mr. ****** during the thirty-day validation period.” I am not sure of what you mean, if you sent someone else a notice so how can you expect to get something back from me? Please to help me understand this situation, and  I am  specifically requesting that you sent me a copy of the original contract bearing my wet signature. Thank you for your time.

This is what I have on your last correspondence meaning I was thinking that you represent Calvary SPV I, LLC. You both have been sending me mails in different occasions and adding false information on my credit profile. I am very confuse right now, is this supposed to be a joke? You're playing with someone credit profile and you're messing up my life and you cannot give me an answer to what is going on. I firmly requested on my last correspondence for you to send me a copy of the contract that I had signed including my wet signature and still nothing from you. My life is upside down right now because of what you both have been doing to my credit profile for the last few years and I kept on asking for proof that you cannot provide but is certain that is mine. The law is written for a reason, my profile is saying that this debt you're claiming  have been charged off and I never received a 1099 for this debt from anyone so please explain to me what is going on. I cannot even get a job because of what you both are doing to my credit profile right now and it is not right.

I was paying them $50.00 per month for my Discover card debt for 3 years. I fell behind on payments due to being a full-time student the the prices of gas and food going up. I got no notice and got a subpeona to court for garnishment. I am willing to pay and have tried to respond by phone, message via their website and mail to settle this out of court but no response. I'm in my senior year of school so can be more financially stable. If I miss school for court I will receive a zero and fail. Also I don't understand why my balance never went down despite making payment for a few years.

      Complaint: 17799557

I do not accept the business's response as a resolution to my complaint because:

For one that's not my phone number.

My other issue wasn't addressed. I can not make that garnishment court date due to being required to be in school that day. I am a full time college student in senior year and will receive a failing grade if I dont attend. I have no criminal record and afraid if I don't attend I'll be arrested. So I'm put in the position of not graduating or losing my job due to being in jail.

I've tried to make a payment agreement through there website. I don't have time between school and my part time job to sit on phone for periods of time to resolve this. I'm being pushed to the edge due to my anxiety.

      Sincerely,

      ********* ****

      Dear Ms. *****

Please allow this to confirm receipt of your follow-up on September 12, 2022.

Please advise what phone number is best to use for communicating with you.

As noted in the attached email sent to you on September 12th, you had been subpoenaed by the court and only they could excuse you from attending the hearing. We noted that you could file a motion to continue, and we would not object to such a request.

In terms of payments, I advised in my September 12th email, that any payment made would go directly to your account and I provided both an email and direct line for one of our Account Specialists, if you wanted to make a payment

I understand that you did file a motion to have the matter continued and the court denied your motion but is allowing you to participate via zoom or phone.  A copy of that motion is attached.
