The Owner of New Age, Bill is a nice guy but I don't think he Knows how to fix this. We had the other central air conditioner for 19 years and it cooled the whole house. The Amana air conditioner was only cooling two rooms. The Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen stayed warm. The Serviceman from New Age said they don't understand Why. On August 26 we had 6 people at the house who are also homeowners that have their own central air conditioners and the complained about my new air conditioner not cooling the Dining Room, Living Room + Kitchen. They have been at my house with the old air conditioner and never complained. I can give you the names of these people if you want to contact them. I called New Age Heating +_Air conditioning they told me to call a lawyer.

      Business response

      09/21/2021

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2021/09/21) */ ***Document Attached*** To whom it may concern: I was called by this customer to give him an estimate for a replacement of his 5 ton condenser and air handler. He had a 10 seer older Lenox 5 ton system. He reached out to me and said if I could take $1000 off the price, he would have me do the job. As I was doing the replacement, he made a comment of having limited AC on his second floor. I let him know there could be an issue with his existing duct work. I told him I would go up in the attic to look at the duct work but there was no access to get into the attic area. I informed him that he would need to get someone to cut an access panel to get into the attic and then I could see what the issue was with the existing duct work. The cutting out of the access panel was not included in my estimate nor do I do this type of work. A few months later, he called me to let me know that it didn't seem like the house was cool enough. I went to his house per his request and found the outdoor condenser was clogged with pollen. I documented and took pictures and showed them to customer. He called me a few days later and said the system was working fine. He called again a few weeks later and said the house was cooling unevenly. I had an independent contractor go out and check the system to see if I may have missed something. Contractor said AC had a 20 degree drop across the coil and system was working fine at that time. The customer called me again and left a voicemail to let me know that he demanded that I replace new system with a high efficiency system, and if I didn't, he would call his lawyer. In summary: This original install was the replacement of an existing 5 ton condenser and air handler. This had nothing to do with any duct work and I did not alter any of his duct work as it was not accessible. Equipment is working fine but he still has not cut an access panel in his attic to look at the duct work. If system was not working, he would have no cold air coming out which is not the case. He has some rooms that are too cold and some that aren't getting cooled enough. My thought is he just wants me replace his existing system that I just installed with a high efficiency system. Please see attached voicemail, estimate and pictures. Thank you Bill C******** Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2021/09/27) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Talked to Bill @ New Age Sept. 24, 2021, kept talking over ma and I could not respond then he respoded not giving you a new AC. On the invoice it stated 13 sear but on the unit itself it states 13. no sears and written right on the unit, lease efficient unit. Take care of this and I will be satisfied. His contractor said you paid $1000.00 for your electric bill, I would be disturbed too. His friend said he can feel its not cool in the living room, dining room & kitchen. My concern is the old conditioner cooled every room downstairs. I paid him $7000.00 for the new condesor. I told him the freon was low and couldn't understand, put a super large air cleaner in the attic, could that have an effect on the coolong. I'll pay for a new 17 Sear condensor, you supply the labor to install and keep the Amana AC. Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2021/10/05) */ In the contract, I quoted a 13 seer unit which is what I installed. I also quoted him $8000 but he asked if he gave me $7000 for the job, he would go with me so I accepted. Customer most likely got a high electric bill because his outdoor unit was embedded with pollen which could over heat the condenser (which I already sent pictures of). I cleaned the condenser for him and had an independent contractor go to his house. The contractor got a 20 degree temperature drop across the coil. The issue has to be with his duct work which is not accessible so going from a 13 seer to a 17 seer will not solve his issue, he will still have uneven air through out his house. In Summary: As I stated in my last response, his duct work needs to be inspected/repaired. I had no access to get to his duct work and customer was not willing to get someone out to give me access. Consumer Response /* (4200, 24, 2021/10/27) */ I would like the company New Age Heating to fill up the freon in the air conditioner please. It was from the old complaint, which has never been taken care of. Thank You. Business Response /* (4000, 28, 2021/11/17) */ Consumer does not need Freon added. In fact, the independent contractor who went out to give second opinion said it had plenty of Freon. Consumer just wants me to replace his unit with a higher efficiency at no charge.
