Couch to be reupholstered left 3 years ago. Did not get to this job until March, 2021. Reupholstered with wrong material and color. Will not correct, refund, or respond to letters and phone calls. I want the right color or my money backBusiness response

I pick up an sofa from Mrs ****** in 2016 and got a deposit 5 months later, in the summer I pick up another sofa in June, of which Mrs ****** was to get fabric for ,both sofas were taken off Mrs ****** porch ,they were in deplorable state ,she abandoned her furniture, after 5years she decided she wanted her sofa I could not find her receipt she couldn't find her receipt so I rely on memory ,put the wrong fabric on which I told her I am willing to change ,I gave her options of fabric to choose from, she said I should return her deposit and sofa because I took too long and the wrong fabric, I offered the sofa and she do not have to pay the balance of over $800 or I change the fabric and she owes the over $800 ,she says the fabric I am offering is made of polyester, I look up her original fabric is made of the same fabric it's discontinued,Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: it is untrue and incorrect. In 2016, Mr. ******************** picked up two sofas from me. One was a bare metal frame needing reupholstering and the other was a decent sofa which we wanted to get recovered. Because he would not take a check or credit card, I paid him $1200 cash when he picked up the first sofa which he noted on the receipt he gave me, as well as the color I chose, which was merlot. I phoned his shop frequently for many years but for over five years, nothing was done on either sofa. Sometimes, I would walk by the shop and make sure one of the sofas was still in the window as I worried he might get rid of the metal frame one as it is valuable. I asked him if I could replace the cash with a check or credit card as it was taking so long to do the job but he would not allow me to do so. Finally, one day this autumn, I got a text from Mr. ******************** telling me he had recovered the metal frame sofa along with a picture of the sofa in blue, not the merlot I had chosen. He insisted that was the color I picked until he found his copy of the contract where he saw his error. He then offered to not charge me anything extra for the fabric beyond the $1200 I had already paid, but I was not expecting to pay any more than the $1200 in the first place. I cannot use the sofa in blue and asked him to give it back to me along with my money and my other sofa. He yelled a bunch of things at me, including telling me I abandoned my furniture when all along, it has been waiting for him to do the work on it! I am really not interested in working with him at this point and was hoping the BBB could help me resolve this frustrating situation. Thank you for any assistance you can give.He texted me some pictures of different color fabrics because I suppose he intends to recover the sofa in the correct color but really, at this point, I am thoroughly disgusted and would like my money and my furniture returned. I texted him that I would like my money and my furniture returned, and that I could send people to pick up the sofas, but he has not responded, so I reached out to the BBB to see if I could get any help in resolving this matter.
