********** Contracting replaced our roof on 12/4/21. Our homeowners insurance agreed to reimburse us for any damaged plywood as long as we could provide images of said damages& proof of payment. ********** was informed of this and assured us he would take ample pics and attach them to our paid invoice. He charged us an additional $1700 and never provided the necessary evidence for us to submit to our insurance company. He claims his worker accidentally deleted the photos. Our adjuster asked us to ask for proof of purchase from the contractor on that date which ********** said should not be a problem. He then just stopped answering calls. We thought we had established a relationship with him as we had also contracted him to install siding on our home for which we had already given a $2000 deposit. So now he is unreachable, we are out $1700 for the plywood & still under contract for the siding. Additionally, it came to our attention after the roofers left that they had damaged our front porch pavers, crushed a garden statue, stolen a large quantity of harvested bulbs from our garage & left hundreds of roofing nails all over our property. He seemed to be a reputable guy from most reviews, but his integrity is questionable to us given this experience. At the very least we would need to be able to provide evidence to our insurance company to collect the reimbursement for the plywood before we could feel confident to move forward with the siding. Had we known it was going to be an issue, we would never have placed the deposit on the siding contract. We expect some proof from the contractor which will be acceptable to our insurance company and if it cannot be provided, we would not feel comfortable moving forward with the siding job and would expect to recuperate our $2000 deposit
