    Pattern of Complaint:

Consumers have reached out to BBB with reports card balances have disappeared after the 45 day guarantee expired, prior to being used by the consumers.

On July 25, 2016, BBB contacted CardCash to address a possible pattern of complaints.

CardCash advised BBB they began adding an insert when mailing out physical cards. The insert includes a step stating “Use the full balance of the card within 45 days of the purchase”. This information will also be included in emails sent to customers who purchase digital cards. CardCash added the information to their website as well.

BBB continued to monitor incoming complaints. As of October 31, 2017, BBB determined the steps taken by the business failed to eliminate the underlying cause for this pattern, which continues.

Entered gift card info and was provided a quote $50 Macys card for a $44 Amazon gift card. Never received any follow up and was told my order was canceled. I told them they need to return my gift card and they said they would reach back out to me and I never heard it back. They stole my gift card.

      Hi,

The gift card was entered incorrectly, resulting in a zero balance. Would you like us to return the card, or should we proceed with processing the order?

Cardcash operates on unethical practices and claims there's a 45 day guarantee. Allegedly using "proprietary fraud technology and KYC measures CardCash has working behind the scenes". This comes after countless others have complained about the same issues where a giftcard balance mysteriously disappears after 45 days. I purchased a giftcard expecting a quick delivery, however, after waiting an unexpected length of time for it to be emailed I needed to pay and leave. This establishment wasn't anywhere near where I live until recently when I attempted to utilize this giftcard. Now $200 worth of giftcards say "deactivated". Cardcash has offered their same rhetoric about having a 45 day guarantee but that's pretty much worthless.

Although our policy allows refunds within 45 days, we have made an exception and processed your refund for the purchase made on September 11th, 2023.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would like to make BBB aware that I reached out to the merchant, Top Golf, and they notified me via email that the gift cards I purchased from CardCash were actually deactivated on September 9, 2023 which is 3 days prior to me purchasing them on September 12, 2023. Therefore, CardCash either willingly sold defaulted cards, their system is inadequate of catching these errors, or a combination of both. If you'd like the email correspondence I will gladly share it.

      Regards,

Stole a gift card that I sent in for sale, they made me mail it and send photo with the card with the security code scratched off. Have not received the card back from them once the declined to list it. Went to the issuer and my card balance has gone from $2,000 to $86. This is after I paid with insurance to ***** the card to them for $75what a scam. I read about them from a credible news report so I thought it would be safe to send. TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS?!

I had a gift card to The Great Wolf Lodge with a $250 balance, which I verified. I then went to sell the card to Card Cash online, and the transaction went through with them also verifying the card. I was given a confirmation number, and instructed to mail the card in, which I did. A few days later I receive an email saying my transaction was canceled. After I emailed them, they told me that my card had a zero balance. And they have since not answered my emails. I feel that I was taken advantage of, and my money was stolen.

The card you attempted to sell to us had a zero balance. As a result, we have had to cancel the order.

I am rejecting this response because:
This is the exact response I received when I email the company myself. I know for a fact that my card had $250 dollars on it. I want the money, or I want the card back. I plan to have the card history investigated to show that my money was taken.

I purchased 2 $500 gift cards from Cardcash on June 10th. The gift cards do not have a pin or expiration date. The merchant refused to take them as payment without the *** number and expiration date. ********************** is giving me the run around and not issuing a refund. They first said they need the card numbers and then a few days later they are telling me they cant find the card numbers. They now want the order number. Also, I was told if I dont stay on the original thread my issue will be closed. I was a loyal customer since 2015, but now they have turned into a scam company.

      Hi,

In order to refund the card, being that the card has a full balance, we require that you send a letter to ******************************** stating that you will not copy, alter, or make any use of the card.

Please copy ******************************* on the email, so I see an email was sent.
As soon as I receive an email from you, I can have your refund processed.

We appreciate your business and apologize for the inconvenience.

Cardcash started out great, instant cash for my gift cards. What isn't there to love compared to sites like Raise, etc. That was until I met ******************************* (or ***** *******************************). I noticed on the bottom a "sell bulk card" option, which I went through the process of applying to. I later get an email where I am asked to schedule a meeting, realizing that I may be in over my head here I asked the reasoning (as my volume is relatively low, I was just looking for better rates if possible). He instantly responds with "you're not a good fit." in which I question why. He claims I "objected" to the phone call which therefore means I wish to stay anonymous while selling cards (is not the case, all of my information is tied to my cardcash account) and therefore I will be banned from the site forever come Monday. The escalation here is insane, all I did was ask a question. I requested to speak to a manager in which he responded "all reports will be thrown away".It's a clear misunderstanding on his part, we had a 20 email back and forth and he still is not enough of a man to admit that. Sad that a company like CardCash is run by someone like him.

      HI,

I apologize for the service you have received. We definitely pride ourselves in amazing customer service and will take this matter seriously. Our bulk program is only offered when a minimum sell or buy amount is sold/ purchased weekly. How much are you looking to sell weekly?

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I have received regarding my $200 *** Shop gift card. For the past four days, I was repeatedly assured that I would receive an email containing a digital gift card valued at $140. Despite these assurances, I have yet to receive the email. After waiting an additional week without any update, I contacted your customer service team again today. Once more, I was told to wait another 24 hours. When I requested to speak with a manager, I was informed that no one was available to assist me. This ongoing issue and the lack of resolution are completely unacceptable.I would like to make it clear that I have documented every interaction and promise made by your team. Additionally, my uncle works with the Attorney General of New Jersey three days out of the week. I am prepared to escalate this matter legally if necessary to ensure I receive the compensation owed to **** demand immediate action to rectify this situation. Please send the $140 digital gift card to my email within 24 hours of receiving this complaint. Failure to do so will result in further action. ( OH AND LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE LOCATED IN **, I LIVE IN **. I WILL GET MY MONEY, SO LET'S MAKE THIS AS EASY AS POSS)

      Hi,

I apologize, it seems that your order was flagged by our automated fraud system as high risk and as a result, has been canceled. Your cards have not been exchanged, and you have full access to your gift cards. Unfortunately, we do not have any more information about why your order was canceled.
