DO NOT BUY HERE. I bought a 2023 Chevy Silverado here 8 months ago, and 3 weeks ago the check engine light came on, and it turns out it was a lemon. Needs a whole new valve body and the part is on backorder and "could take months". To make matters worse, the dealership does nothing to make things right. They told me they have "no loaner vehicles", and that I had to find my own rental vehicle for less than $44/day. After explaining that I need a truck, as I purchased the truck to tow my RV, I was told I could pay the difference out of pocket on my own to get a truck, and there was nothing they could do to help me. So I should continue payments on my lemon of a truck, and pay $16/day on top of that so I can have a replacement truck for what "could be months". Save your time and money and go somewhere else. The product is trash and the service is worse. At least you could stand by your defective products and do right by your customers, as many other dealerships do.

I recently bought a 2021 Chevy Tahoe from mall Chevy. A persistent brake problem has been occurring. After replacement of front brake pads, rotor and caliber within two weeks the brakes went bad again. After that new brake pads were applied and now within under a week a burning smell illuminates thru the left driver tire.

I had my 203 Chevrolet Corvette at Mall Chevrolet in April 2023 and they diagnose the *** light was lite, they told me it needed a right front wheel hub assembly and told me it was the cause for the *** being lit. They said it would be ***e the same day so I waited around and it wasn't fixed and I had to get a lyft ride home 35 miles. *** I came back to pick p my car the next day and once i had paid the $910.24 and once paid, I went to get my Car, and the *** light was still lit, I went back in and asked the service advisor about it, and he said " Oh yeah your need a EBCM module !" and once on the road I had a flat, ( I put this in my other BBB complaint ) and in order to lift the car up so the AAA technician asked if I had jacking pucks, and I said their on the car, these are hi strength plastic snap-In jacking pucks, and he said "No here on your car1" and sure enough al 4 were missing. These cost about $50.00 which isn't all that much, it is Snap-in permanent there is no way for them to fall off, so the only way their missing is if someone used a tool to pry them off. So today I got a call from the service manager, ( I think ) at 'Mall Chevrolet' and not only very rude, almost belligerent about my BBB complaint and I'm not too sure what he was expecting but I tried to explain my unfortunate experience at this dealership, but then kept calling me *** or **** or ***, and then he said the lifts are special ones and the technician took them off and that do use them or their not original of something like that. I asked well wasn't the technician put them back on and I asked why they weren't put back on ? but this individual NEVER SHUT UP ! Then started telling me that some technicians but the parts in their tool boxes and then launched into a rather detailed word salad of something and on to something about "common courtesy" and he just wouldn't allow me to speak, so I hung up, I'm not going to allow that abuse. I'm 72, and this was just "elder abuse" .

While my Corvette was at Mall Chevrolet, for what they diagnosed as a bad wheel hub assembly, and they said it could be finished in a few hours, (IT took all day Of my time sitting there) It wasn't repaired till the next day, So I needed to get a Lyft ride to my home and back 45 miles each way, but when I went to pick up my car the service advisor told me I needed a EBCM module, ( which they don't have or can even get ) so I asked "well why did you install a $758 dollar Hub assembly?" his reply was "Well you needed it too ?", but that isn't my real complaint, these automobiles have a item called a "Jacking Puck" which needed to lift the car with a hydraulic **** or lift. I installed 4 Jacking pucks, which were a extremely tough plastic part that "Snap-into" the openings in the car chassis. after i left the dealership, I had a flat tire and called AAA for help, The driver /Service tech got to my local, and asked "Do you have ****ing pucks ?" he asked I said Yes are there are, 4 snap-in the frame locations already " He said Nope, so I had to call home and ask my wife to get the 4 ****ing pucks, and bring them to where i was broken down on the highway. There is no way a ****ing puck, could fall out, but more over all 4 fell out ? they were in there the morning I took the car to Mall Chevrolet , The Mall Chevrolet technician who lifted the car up, saw them there as I watch him lifting the car up. There is NO WAY he could of lifted the car up without them being in place. The place is infested with thieves, and the technician who worked on my car knew it, and I'm sure he took them off my car. You can't see them unless you kneel down and look. The set of 4 ****ing pucks cost me $49.95

This repair is from March of 2023. Tried to contact customer via phone ******* on **/**, called 3:00pm on 04/29 no answer, contacted him on 04/30 @10:00am said he was busy and would call us back, has not responded since then. Called again on 04/30 @ 2:25 pm did not answer. Customer has only been to our service department this one time and was told he needed a right front hub bearing to start due to ABS light concerns, after road test the **** light came on and we determined that was also an issue. Customer said he would return to do that and never returned and never heard anything since then. As far as the ****ing pucks under the car missing, we use in house pucks to **** up Corvettes in the event the customer does not have them on the car, he did in fat have them and would never remove his to use our own.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      Regards,

      *******************

I was contacted by the business on 4/25/2024 by someone at the Mall Chevrolet dealership, I tried to explain the circumstances for my complaint by the person I spoke with, He only allowed me to speak for 12 seconds and would not allow my to go any further, at that point he said something about the shop having special lifts or that the "Jacking Pucks" being stolen, and he said they were taken off and the mechanic put them in his tool box I asked why he didn't simply put them back on my car or return them to me, especially since it been close to a year and that was about the most he allowed me to speak. My wife and myself are just now getting over Covid19 infection and I don't feel very good, but since he refused me a chance to go any further, so I hung up on him. He seemed very beligent and never contacted myself by mail which they have since I paid them $910.00 on Mall Chevrolet Invoice #*****. I don't know what I am to do next.

      Thank you,

I own a 2019 Silverado RST, with ****** miles. ******* coolant line failed at the crimp, and the motor seized. There is a recall (N192220080) but only for ****** and the ***************! The dealership told me it is not covered and I should have bought the extended warranty. The dealership also told me they dont even want to put a new engine in the truck even if I paid! What can I do?

      Business response

We actually spoke to **************** today and it doesn't appear that he has an issue with Mall Chevrolet.  His vehicle needs a new engine that is not available. He is not the only customer that is in this situation. When he was here last, he considered buying a new truck but the cost was prohibitive.  Today, we advised **************** to open a case with GM and once that is done, we will negotiate with GM for some sort of assistance.  It has been our experience in cases like this that GM can provide meaningful financial accommodations that *** enable **************** to purchase a new truck.  We will also do anything that we can to locate a replacement engine but the last time that we were faced with the same situation, with the exact same engine, it took us over a year to finally get it.

I am rejecting this response because: I purchased vehicle from ********** and believe they are my point of contact. I did make them aware that I know of others in this area that have had similar issues concerning the oil coolant line leaking and becoming unattached at the crimp. ********** is the one I purchased the vehicle from and I believe they should have been on top of this issue. If ********** recommends that I contact Gm directly I would appreciate the contact info any any other information that they can provide. I do appreciate everyones effort on this issue. Thank you, and
I dont believe that my investing the purchase of a new vehicle has any bearing on the issue at hand. Any additional questions or concerns please dont hesitate to contact me.

Beginning of November 2023, the engine light came on my 2018 ***** Traverse with less than ****** miles. I went to my trusted mechanic and after a diagnostic test, the issue was the catalytic converter. He told me to go to the dealer because it should be covered in warranty 8 years or ****** miles. I went to **********, *********** ** to get my Traverse checked. I had to pay $170. I was advised that it was the flex pipes that was leaking and its going to cost $2400 to replace. If I went ahead and had the flex pipe replaced (which ***** is insisting to be the issue) but it still causes the engine light to come on, then thats the only time that ***** will replace the catalytic converter. I will be stuck paying for the $2400 flex pipe replacement charge even if its real issue is the catalytic converter. I went to ** and I filed a claim. I was given case number SR: ************* ** Rep said Mall of Chevrolet can offer 20% discount for the $2400 charge. When I called Mall of Chevrolet, they are totally clueless of that 20% discount that ** was talking about and I was told that management have to approve it first. After a few more calls, the ** rep said get it fixed and then we can figure out if anything can be credited, offer cash assistance or ***** points. They should be coordinating this internally. I was told that if I did the flex pipe replacement outside of ***** that voids any possible cash assistance The fact that other customers are also having the same issue, this is a vehicle defect that should be fixed and covered with the warranty. Me and other customers with this vehicle should not be paying for this. A 5-year old truck under ****** miles should not be having this issue. This is prevalent in ***** Traverse 2019s, 2020s, and 2021s. They have coverage for later models but not the 2018s. I am seeking for your assistance in resolving the issue and protecting a consumer that is being taken advantaged of by **/Chevrolet

****************** vehicle had a code that indicated that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced.  That repair would be covered under GM's warranty.  ****************** vehicle also had cracks and leaking in his flex pipes.  Those leaks trigger the same codes. The flex pipe warranty on ****************** vehicle expired on 6/30/21.  We are not able to replace the catalytic converter under GM's warranty if the leaking flex pipes are actually the issue.  I'm sure that GM did tell ************** that they would provide the 20% discount but that was not communicated to us.  We will replace the flex pipes and provide the 20% discount on our end and if ************** can get something additional in the way of assistance from GM; that would be great.  If the same codes are evident once the flex pipes are replaced, we will replace the catalytic converter at that time under warranty.

      Complaint: 21070077

I am rejecting this response because:

The ***** mechanic never stated that my warranty expired for the flex pipe.  Also, this is the same issue that ***** Traverse owners are having issue with, their flex pipe/catalytic converter.  I also went to my personal mechanic for a second opinion, he did not see any leak or issue with the flex pipe.  This is not something that I as a consumer should pay for at all.  This is a defect for this model that GM/***** do not want to acknowledge.  *****/GM is covering claims for 2019 onwards? why? probably because its still within warranty.  The fact that it is also an issue with newer models proves that this is a defect.

Also, why should I be the one coordinating this issue between GM/*****! This should be internal coordination because GM manufactures this SUV under the ***** Brand.

With *****s statement If the same codes are evident once the flex pipes are replaced, we will replace the catalytic converter at that time under warranty I will still end up paying for the defect in the vehicle even if the same code is evident once the flex pipes are replaced? How does that statement sound? That sounds people are getting ripped off with the mistake of this manufacturer! I should not be paying for any of this. Again I bought this vehicle brand new, I should not be having any problems like this for a 2018 vehicle.

I will be going to social media, news or even file for legal action against *****/GM if they dont fix this issue.

      Regards,

I had to come out of pocket for a rental car because they did not receive the parts they insured me it would be done on Monday 12/27 and it isnt. They are waiting on 4 wires and its every time I have come here Ive had an issue! the whole staffing is horrible

I understand ********************** frustration. Unfortunately, we are having supply chain issues that are affecting every aspect of our business.  Parts that scheduled to arrive on a specific date are getting here weeks later.  We have less than 20% our our normal inventory so we have been forced to eliminate our loaner car fleet. It's my understanding that ********************** vehicle is safe to drive and that she currently has the vehicle in her possession. I can assure you that just as soon as the parts arrive, we will contact ****************** and repair the vehicle.
