On March 5th, I began looking into the Free 30 min Intro class that is offered twice a week at this location, on Thursdays and Mondays. I signed up for the class on the 21st as it was the first available, but also signed up for the wait list for the 4 intro classes between these dates in the event a slot opened up. Slots opened on a couple of occasions, but the notification came too late and I had already made other plans.After reviewing my call log/emails/texts between these dates (3/5 - 3/20), I received no less than 9 missed calls, 9 voicemails, 13 emails and 9 texts from Club Pilates. As you can imagine, for a studio newcomer, this felt like overkill for a free 30 min class and overwhelming to say the least. The apparent goal of these messages was all over the place ranging from what to expect in my intro class, remember to bring grip socks, we need a card on file, call to complete your reservation, you need to sign a waiver, etc.Finally, yesterday (3/20) I took the time to sign the waiver they'd sent by email and responded to the most recent text with my credit card number to "complete my reservation" at 3:13pm; they didn't respond, but added the card to my account. I'm fully aware of the risk I'm taking in sending the number via text, but frankly I didn't want to speak to them based on how frequent their communication was and, since it was my AmEx, I knew I'd be fully protected should something go awry.And awry it went.I woke up in the middle of the night today (3/21) at 2:30am to a fraud alert from AmEx - "A charge of $110.00 USD was attempted at Casetify USD." I responded that no, I did not make this charge and was met with another prompt asking if I'd also just charged $105.56 at Sephora, also not my own. I should also note that in the 6-7 years that I've had this card, I've never had an issue with fraud. Yet mere hours after I give this number to the team at Club Pilates, fraud alerts. Coincidence? Don't think so.
