I hired a company called Brightline Moving and Storage to help with a cross country move from New Orleans to D.C in the middle of November. My understanding was that Brigntline would be doing the moving. I got a call 24 hours before my move-in window of November 14-15 saying that the movers were confirmed and would be there within that window. On Monday, November 15, they called and said they would arrive between 4-7. Part of the agreement I arranged with Brightline was to pick up the remaining items in storage around the corner, and that it closed at 10pm so they needed to be there earlier. The movers showed up at 8:30pm. They were from a subcontracted company named Quick Moves LLC and I had no idea that it was a different company. The two young movers did inventory of our things and quoted me more than double the amount from the original quote I had worked meticulously with Brightline on making so I wouldn't be caught off-guard with unknown expenses. Additionally, I could not get ahold of anyone at Brightline since it was after hours. I felt very hoodwinked. They also demanded I pay 75% of the remaining balance, even when the contract stated no more than 70%. So I wrote them a check for $3914. They informed us that our stuff would take about 2-3 days to arrive, and I let them know that I needed at least 24 hours notice to inform our condo building since we needed to schedule it and make arrangements. Furthermore, they can't take move-in deliveries on the weekends. They took off around 11pm. I gave them a few days and then called to try and get an update. I called the driver. He said he was no longer handling the move but it should be there in a few days. Then they went radio silent. For six weeks. I called, emailed the information email and heard nothing. Then we get a call on 12/18 saying they are going to arrive at 7am the next day. We were out of town. They threatened to put it in back in storage and charge me $1200/day for storage fees.

I was looking for a moving company. A guy named ***** contacted me from priceline logistics and made it seem as if he was part of a moving company to facilitate my move from *** to *********. He contacted me on August 15th. He quoted me **** dollars for the whole move and asked me for a deposit of ****. I send him my deposit and he said they would have my items in las Vegas 6 days after pick up. On august 18 the movers showed up and they were from Quick move LLC. They charged me an extra ************************************************************* from *****. I had to leave all my furniture except for my fire place. They took my fire place, 5 televisions, a toy car, and mine and my children's clothes' as well as a dresser. I had to pay the extra **** right there and then. I am in ***** and we are at the end of October and my stuff never made it to las Vegas. No one from either company answers my calls. Me and my kids have nothing. Quck move LLC stoled all our belongings and wont answ

This moving company extorted $10,500 from us. They did not pack or load professionally as promised. The were argumentative and spent more time on the cell phone with their boss than packing. They refused to load the uhaul as agreed, insisting they needed more money than agreed upon. They loaded our expensive items, then stopped, refused to accept cashiers check, insisted on $5k cash or we would not see the truck for 30 days. We paid the cash. Then they refused to fully load truck. Upon arrival in ******** ** they refused to unload without an additional $5k. They unloaded in a hurry into a storage unit, trying to keep us from seeing the damage to china cabinets and other items. WE have a police report x2. Many items were missing, or damaged. some things are irreplaceable heirlooms. The mover told me, 'what do you care? you have $10k insurance." ************* is worthless. information provided does NOT go to any insurance claim site. We want a resolution and them to be stopped.
