Id like a resolution for this money siphoning for services that I did not receive! My step-son spends every July with us. I brought him to OT w/me to sign him up for the month of July 2022. At sign-up I specified this has to be for 1 month only. The girls working the desk who were nice but often forgot miscellaneous requests, confirmed it will be for 1 month. My stepson left us in the 1st week of August and did not attend any more classes, attending school in Queens,**. On his last gym-visit that summer, I had the front desk confirm again that its his last day. My membership expected to continue but his cancelled. They verbally confirmed. Later on I asked if the place could pull footage of this to prove that this is what I was told! In Feb 2023, my step son spent Presidents week w/us and I took him to the gym planning to pay a drop-in fee. When we got there, the desk (a new girl, they replaced the desk staff for seemingly more competent people) told me that his membership was still active! I take some accountability b/c I should've noticed that we were charged, but I assumed they were for my membership. I told them to cancel his membership immediately and to speak to a manager who eventually called me and was very careless about the situation. I told her that b/c of how the gym handled this situation and countless other frustrations from the staff that I would like to cancel my membership too. She told me over the phone you will not be charged for ******* membership anymore, that will cancel immediately. Yours will be charged 1 more time per policy. That week my husband went there to confirm that both memberships were cancelled. I later learned that they sent me to collections for $400.00 b/c they DID NOT cancel my membership as they said they would. I am ~$1,000 in debt b/c my sons gym membership kept running despite him not setting foot there, and now my credit score is being ruined too.
