      This office was acquired by a corporation by the name "ProSmile." I was recommended to this office by my ****************. After using this dental office, having X-rays, cleanings and examinations for several years, I developed a problem with one of my teeth being very sensitive. The dentist, ******************************* recommended a root canal in August 2023. After the root canal was scheduled and I received a Treatment Plan itemizing the procedure and the pricing, the Office Manager, ***********************, advised me that they could no longer accept my ****************. I was devastated as I had been a member of the **************** for over 10 years and was always very happy with it. She advised me to join another dental plan. I did and was very unhappy with the plan. I kept my **************** and postponed my appointment for the root canal as the sensitivity in the tooth went away. On Wednesday, October 18th, I woke up with a swollen cheek. I immediately called the dental office and scheduled a visit for that afternoon. When I arrived, I was met by the Office Manager, ***********************, to fill out and sign a new Treatment Plan. I told her that I had already signed a Treatment Plan that did not contain an expiration date. She refused to allow me to see the dentist and told me that I could not come back to the office. She subsequently sent me an email with an attached letter of "dismissal." Meanwhile, my mouth was still swollen and I needed medical attention. After begging to see the dentist, she went to the dentist and obtained a prescription for an antibiotic. As she handed it to me, she said that "you can now be on your way." I called my **************** to discuss this situation and they told me that the dental contract with Avia requires that the patient be treated until the membership expires. My membership does not expire until January ****. This is not the way a patient should ever be treated. I am now seeking service from another dental office for my care.
