RUN, do not walk away from this contractor! I hired them to put in a concrete patio. The price was $8,000, and included the permit, trash removal, and a 10 year warranty. Here is a list of what is wrong with the job: When I asked for a copy of the permit, **** told me that it was all done by email (during Covid). I contacted the ********************* after the fact and nothing was ever filed. They left all of the old 4x4's surrounding the old patio + 3 pallets on my front lawn. I called / texted and asked them to come back and they never did. I lugged the stuff to the curb and some other locals guys wanted the wood (not Bergen Pride people - I asked). They used two different colors of concrete for 1/3 of the patio and it's all blotchy / 2 different **** colors. **** initially said that it was still wet underneath...not true. He said he would come back and stain the patio and that never happened either. The patio was poured 7.5 inches shorter in width and length, so now the 4x4 borders for the garden and path do not meet the edge of the patio. He said he would come back and have his people move the 4x4, and install a small brick path to make up for the errors. I asked if I needed to withhold $1,000 to make sure they come back, but he shook my hand, looked me in the eye and said they would definitely be back. I tried to contact them by text, phone call, and registered letter. The letter was returned saying "not deliverable as addressed", so they either declined the letter or are no longer located at ************** in *********, **. I cannot get them to fix what's wrong (including a stain on the patio since day one), and how is my job warranted for 10 years if I can't reach them at all? Horrible, horrible, horrible - **** is a liar and not trustworthy - he will say what he thinks you want to hear. I regret paying in full and now I feel so disappointed and angry every time I step out onto what should have been a beautiful patio. I only want to spare someone else from a really bad end result. **** does not stay on the job to supervise either, and perhaps some of these issues would have been avoided if he had.
