I applied and paid $250 for a women's mentorship program that was advertised to last from May to October 2024, promising to enhance skills, boost visibility, and unlock leadership potential. This program claimed to help women advance into influential leadership roles and elevate their on-the-job performance. The program encouraged the creation of a supportive community where participants could connect, exchange information, and inspire each other.I was matched with a group of mentees and two mentors. After the introduction where only one mentor showed up, and she seemed lost only talking about how her parents were hippies, we met twiceonce online and once in person. However, the program failed to deliver on its promises. The sessions were just complaining sessions. They did not enhance my skills or provide any valuable industry-specific insights. The qualifications of the mentors were questionable, as they offered no career-progressive input during our meetings. The last session became confrontational, with one mentee expressing anger over the lack of promised food and sharing that she was taking out her rage on her family due to running out of her birth control medication. This turned into a complaining session rather than any form of mentorship.When I requested a refund, I was first given excuses by ************************* about factors beyond their control. Then, I was told that they had to spend extra money to accommodate my daughter at the introduction session, which was an attempt to deflect from the fact that most participants had already dropped out due to the program's inadequacies. This response was deeply disappointing and unprofessional.Given the failure of the program to meet its advertised promises and the poor handling of my concerns, I am seeking a refund of the original $250 that was paid.
