Hired Crestview Builders (***********************) from ******** ********** on January 24, 2020. Company was supposed to do several repairs in the home and outside the home. I was off to a ***** start especially when Covid hit did not start the job until a year later. Repairs were made on the stone which was finished repairs were made on to Sliding Glass Doors which was finished repairs were also made inside elevator shaft which one piece is not repaired. Two years later, still do not repair the Azack which is outside and all doors in the home which was supposed to be repaired is still not repaired. Not only was the job not finished, also the stone company that he used over estimated on the stones and had to take a loss on that. Had to resell the stone not used back to Crestview because, it was sitting on my driveway for a year and I took a major loss. A month ago I was in contact with ***** discussing how much money that I would be refunded. We were going back-and-forth with figures and I decided (not happily) just to settle up on figure that he came up with (which doesnt include the loss of Stone that was over estimated). A little over a week ago he told me he was going to mail me a check which I never received. I was hoping he would do the right thing and I wouldnt have to go report him to the Better Business Bureau as Im doing now. I would NOT hire this company. I feel that I was taking advantage of and he strung me along for over 2 years and now Im being strung along again and waiting for a refund check that is due to me.

    Crestview Custom Builders Response

******,In response to your negative review of my company, this is my response. We were hired by you to do several repairs to your brand new house that you had just moved into. You had several MAJOR issues with your original builder and were suing him in Civil Court. You had a laundry list of problems you wanted us to correct. We gave you an original estimate that was just over 100k. There were some things eliminated that you couldn't afford to do at the time. We adjusted the estimate down to approximately 53k. Then we entered a contract with you and had a start date of February 2020. ++++This was contingent upon being able to obtain several permits that were not complete from the original construction.++++ One of the big issues was the (concrete) front stairway to the house that was built illegally into the front yard setback and had to be completely removed as per the city. (one of the issues with your original builder.) We had to hire an engineering firm to re design the stairway to meet code. All the while communicating with your attorney who was handling your lawsuit against the original builder and the City. We finally received the permit on 9/10/2020. +++(eight months later.) +++****** selected the stone product she wanted, ordered it, and work began that same month. Also in September of that year you asked us to correct another major issue on the third floor deck that held your backup generator. Apparently the original builder installed the generator incorrectly (the deck was too small to handle three ** condensers and a backup generator, which caused it to fail.) It appeared there were no inspections performed and the City had to get involved. You also had the manufacturer come inspect the issue. We agreed to remedy the problem by building another deck on the third floor to accommodate the **** units and the backup generator. You signed the contract, gave us a deposit, and we began work. We designed the new deck and applied for permits. The City and your attorney were made aware of every action we had to take and we were all working to the same goal. During that time we evacuated your (three) ** condensers and removed them to gain access to the decks. +++++The stairway and stone work were completed in October 2020. +++++That same month you signed a change order for MORE additional work which included a new front door ( ****** supplied the front door.) and new sliding glass doors for the master bedroom. (The remaining small repairs were being completed at this time as well.) You were advised that the ******** slider was going to take at least 8 weeks to arrive. Possibly longer due to all suppliers having issues with production due to Covid. Some time in November 2020 you cancelled the deck project and stated the generator would be fine where it was. Your lawsuit (with the original builder) was costing a lot and you stated you just couldn't afford it anymore. Even though the deck contract specifically states your deposit was non refundable we agreed to refund the un spent amount. (work had already begun.) We agreed at that time to use the refund towards other projects you wanted completed on the house. You also stated you were in no rush and they could be completed over time. ++++++At this point of the project the original scope of work was complete. Two months in total for this portion.+++The new sliding glass door and front entry door finally arrive+++++Five months later due to Covid ++++++ and were installed in March of 2021. We re installed the ** condensers around this time to be ready for the summer. You were due two credits from me. One for the left over stone materials and one for the deposit refund on the cancelled deck job.We adjusted doors and windows throughout the house which were all installed wrong or upside down from the original builder. (The customer declined to replace some of these doors and windows due to the ongoing lawsuit with the original builder.)We waterproofed the interior of the foundation. We replaced composite trim that was cracked and installed incorrectly. At this point we were performing small tasks on the house to use up the credit you had with us. You wanted more estimates along the way, but it became apparent you had no intention of having the work done. It was mostly to help you with your lawsuit. You apparently settled your lawsuit with the original builder and contacted me in March for a refund. I had not heard from you during that time, nor did you contact me about any work that wasn't completed. To my surprise, your tone had changed, and you were somehow insinuating WE had done something wrong. After some back and forth we agreed to a refund amount. That was on April 17th. (We will be processing that check before the end of the month.)So to recap. Our work took approximately three months to complete.(as per our agreement) The sad part about your review is we were trying to help you with your issues FOR OVER TWO YEARS. All the while having to hear you yell at me and my guys about how messed up your house was from the original builder. No thank you, no good job, no gratitude whatsoever. Just the ever constant bitterness towards the original guy who put you in that position. I guess you didn't get the satisfaction of writing a bad review about the original builder due to a non disparagement agreement, so you took it out on me. ****** LEARNED !! We will never work on another job where a homeowner got stiffed by another builder !!
