General Waste supplied a scrap metal dumpster to a job site for us back in January 2023. I called them to pick this up back on January 19th with phone records and communication to prove I did this. This was never picked up, we never received a refund for the scrap metal that was placed in there and it was assumed that we broke even since we never got a check. It came to our attention in August 2023 that this container was never picked up, the container had no identifying information on it whatsoever, so it took the facility months to track down whose container this was. We were contacted in August 2023 by the facility and tried for two weeks with General Waste to have this container removed, they refused because by this time regular trash was also in the container. They were rude and unwilling to help the situation, despite the fact this was their fault at never picking up the container. The facility finally removed the trash and the container was removed. But now we are unable to get an answer from General Waste about how much our refund for the scrap metal will be and when we will receive this check. We are told that only the owner has this information (*****) yet he refuses to return the numerous phone calls that have been made to the company. No one will give us any information and they are refusing to do anything further on this. They owe us a refund for the scrap metal that was in the container and at the very least the courtesy to return our call to discuss the issue, especially given the fact this was their error.Business response

In response to ******* ******* from Superior Construction.
Superior ordered two roll off containers. One for recycling and one for trash, for a construction job. Coincidentally for one of our existing customers. It was made very clear which container was for what marital. We explained that no trash can be mix in with the recyclables. ******** called for the trash roll off to be removed. It was done the following day. They did not call for the removal of the recycle roll off. My customer from where they were doing the job called us to remove the roll off. When the driver went to pick the recycle roll off up it was full with recyclables and trash. My office called and spoke with ******* and explained why we could not take the container with the trash. ******* became very rude to my employee. I called ******* to try to resolve the problem. She was not only rude, but down right abusive. Needless to say, we could not resolve the issue with someone who was incapable of having a civil conversation. In the end my customer where ******** was doing the job cleaned out the container so we could take the material to a recycle location.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:My issue has not been addressed. We were not responsible for putting the trash in the recyclable container. Had General Waste removed the container when they were supposed to when it was originally called off months ago, this would not even have been an issue. The issue currently is the fact that General Waste took three steel warehouse dock levelers in that scrap metal container and recycled them but failed to send us the rebate check. ************** our office has reached out to obtain the status of this check and all employees as well as the owner refuses to provide an answer to anyone in our company. We are owed money in the form of the rebate check for these steel warehouse dock levelers and General Waste has failed to address that issue. That is the reason that the BBB has been contacted so we can obtain our money back for these. General Waste needs to provide an answer as to the amount of the rebate and when we will receive this check.
