      My mother in law hired this law firm which promised her to get my fiance out of jail. Since hiring them in February 2021, 3 lawyers were assigned to him, non of which reached out to him to talk. Nothing was ever done on their end to help with his case and would avoid phone calls from myself and my mother in law by hanging up on us as soon as we said our names. We've asked for a copy of the work they've done and have yet to receive it. My mother in law had a meeting with *** Bhatt where he said he would cut her a check for all funds paid since we were unsatisfied with them and stated he was surprised at the neglect we were receiving. My brother in law was also present and my fiance and myself were on the phone during this meeting. After leaving, the receptionist told my mother in law the next day it wasn't going to be the full amount of $8k but only $2,500 since my fiance had went through 3 lawyers. Now, they are refusing to provide her any funds whatsoever. They are currently ignoring all attempts of contact from my mother in law and myself. Emails have been sent as well as phone calls. They not only did no work on my fiance's case, but also robbed my mother in law of her money. We not only would like an apology but we would like to be refunded for them improperly handling the case.

      When a client retains our services, we do not promise them anything. Our goal is to work on behalf of our clients and do our best within the parameters of the law. We have spoken to the client multiple times. We have explained to the family that there is a process when we must follow to speak to them after we speak to the client. We have communicated with our client on multiple occasions. As far as being unable to communicate with the family - they are not the client. We are only able to speak to the family once our client authorizes us. We never told the client that they would receive a full refund. We have been working on this case for quite some time and have advised them that we will review the time spent on the case and refund the balance. The client can contact our office and receive a partial refund for the unused amount of the retainer.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      The response is false. The client authorized myself and his mother in regards to this case. The lawyers never spoke to him numerous times but only about a handful for the whole time they were hired. Even the judge asked ******************* in one of the court dates why he hasn't spoken to his client yet. Ms. ****** went personally to the firm and spoke to *** who said he was surprised that no work was done and that the client should have not been in custody for as long as he has. And told her a meeting would be set up and if my fiance still wasn't pleased, a full refund would be provided. During the meeting I was on the phone along with ******************** and his mother Ms. ****** and her other son was in the office. When she told *** that ******************** no longer wanted to be represented by them, he told her to come back the following day to pick up the check. Since then, he has not answered her emails. The receptionist told her she would get only $2500, then told her she would get nothing. They have stated they were going to send the paperwork of what they've done with the case and have yet to provide that. Now whenever they hear her name they hang up on her. Not to mention the first lawyer assigned never spoke to the client, and the second one was rude. The final one provided never knew the information of the case, such as the next court date, whenever asked.
