We had damage from Hurricane ***. We **ntracted McCarthy to find and remedy the water problem in the basement. He initially gave us a **ntract for $13,250 to **mplete extensive work. Our insurance ** gave a minimal amount and we were eligible for FEMA funds. FEMA approved us for $57,300. We found out that we were only able to get $25000 until **rrections were made to our deed so we asked McCarthy to cut back on the scale of the job until we were able to get the balance of the funds.We gave him $3000 to start and he told us what he would be doing. He began by remediating the water issue in the basement. He did a beautiful job.Then he poured the walk around the pool and it has been a nightmare. We told him how disappointed we were with the job and he agreed. He came back to tear up the job and has not **mpleted it to satisfaction. Before he poured, we gave him the final payment of $2500 that he requested. He set the final price of $5500. We paid him in full. We hired him 6 weeks ago and the job isnt **mplete. It should have been done in 4 days. He keeps telling us he will be here and doesnt show up. He **ntinually promises us one thing then has his workers do the minimum. We finally demanded that he **mplete the job and he told us to stop texting him. We have over 100 pictures of the mess that he has made and text messages from the start of the job.
