Hired Selective Van Lines to move me from ** to **. Paid $7000 Sept 20th, stuff has not arrived yet. All phone numbers have a record, 'number has not been set up to receive calls '. Several times they call and tell me something to pacify me, promise to call back, then never do. Waiting 3.5 weeks after they originally said 5-7 days worst case scenario. Picked up my stuff at *******************************************************. My email is *********************** Your website won't accept it, says it's invalid. I measured everything to be put on the truck, they sent a 28ft truck which couldn't get all on it but they charged me extra for large load. Had to leave a lot of stuff there. The girls name is ***** who took all measurements from me, said all would fit, but charged me extra for large load, then charged more after loading. One of the workers scammed me for $2500, said he got me a discount but needed check for that amount in his name to give to driver taking stuff to *******, told me I can't tell anyone because they could get fired due to they aren't allowed to give discounts. I did get money back in form of credit to my balance at delivery. I am 70 years old, this is elder abuse. Thank you.

I hired Selective Vanlines 6/10/2022 to pick my belongings from ************** to be delivered in ********* Upon pick up I had a signed contract send a moving company when they picked up my stuff said that the contract doesnt mean anything. They asked for cash that they did not document or give me a copy and snd document, upon delivery my furniture was scratched and damaged. 265 inch TVs were missing and a king ********* They told me the missing items were in the warehouse for two weeks and then finally told me the truth that the items were missing. I filed a claim through CSI and I received an email stating that my claim is closed due to selective Van lines terminating their contract. No one calls me back or emails me back regarding my claim.

We used this service for our move from ************* to ** in June of 2022. They falsely advertised a move of five days; our things were delivered on July 15, 2022. What did arrive was several damaged items, and generally packed with zero care whatsoever (things thrown into boxes with no organization). We were supposed to have assistance unpacking and they refused to unpack any of the boxes, or even open them; we had to beg them to help us move the mattress upstairs because they just left it against the car and were getting ready to drive way, We were just grateful to get our things since **************** provided no updated during that time despite my calling several times during the week. However, the next major complaint is since July, we have repeatedly contacted them (I believe they have blocked my number at this point) because they delivered several boxes of SOMEONE ELSE'S items. We offered to even ship it to them if they paid for a return label, and they kept saying they would send a truck... at the time of writing, it is now September 2022 and we still have these boxes. We are sick of holding onto someone else's items and just want them returned to the rightful owner. A proper resloution for me would be that this business not be permitted to operate. Furthermore, their ****** reviews and MyMove.Com are clearly fabricated; poor business practices, and borderline criminal treatment of items that customers have entrusted with them.

I was making a move going only one mile. I contacted selective van lines. On June 15th I sent them $874 and after an update on what was being moved they said it would be more. So I sent an additional $701.22. Selective van lines never called me again but I called them the day before the scheduled move, thats when they said they would not be coming. Now two months have gone by with virtually no contact from them. No one, and I mean no one answers the phone. Sales, billing even the operator doesnt answer. I want my $1575.21. Im a senior on a fixed income and sole caregiver for an adult with autism. Thanks. I look forward to a call

This complaint is fully outlined in the uploaded form below. In summary, we were defrauded by ***************************** (dba Moving *************** of *****************************************. They entered into a bait and switch furniture estimate scam, dramatically increasing the cost of our intra-********** our furniture's cubic footage.move based on fraudulent measurement of cubic footage.Selective Van Lines (dba Moving *************** is not licensed in ********** as a moving company or a broker. If they were a licensed broker, their obligation was to declare this fact at the beginning and use the ****** and M.C, broker numbers under which they were registered on the contract. Selective Van Lines (dba Moving *************** demonstrated harmful predatory business practices when estimating the cubic footage of our furniture to be moved, prompting us to canceling our move and asking for a full refund of our deposit of $2165. Selective Van Lines (dba Moving *************** is not licensed in ********** as a moving company or a broker.Selective Van Lines (dba Moving *************** did not follow ********** legal moving procedures requiring in-person inspection and measurement of furniture, providing a moving rights guide and Not to Exceed Price quote, fraudulently declaring that they are brokers and creating invoices with incorrect DOT and MC numbers Selective Van Lines (dba Moving *************** does not respond to serious concerns about how they conduct business as borne out by the reviews and should have their license revoked and should be closely monitored so that they cannot re-establish illegal business practices.

we hired Selective van lines to move our stuff to our new apartment. After we paid a **** dollar deposit they stoped picking up the phone and never called us. We ended a lease in the current place we live at with the anticipation of living at the new place we set up but now we are stranded in a place where we have no home and our stuff has no where to go. So in short we paid money for a service they promised but never did it.

We had a short notice move and needed to be out on July 15th, 2022. Selective Van Lines originally quoted us $20,000.00. We declined but the sales lady called to let us know they had a cancellation and would be able to give us a great discount if we were interested. We told her we already know we need two trucks as we had literally just moved September 2021. She confirmed we would be getting two trucks and we also asked if she was sure we would get services on the 15th, she confirmed. She said she needed a backup day and that they never actually use the backup day, it was just formalities due to DOT regulations. 7/15 arrives and we have not heard from anyone. ** called us and advised the move was changed to the next day. We told her we really needed the movers that day and that we were told the back up day was never actually used and all she said was you signed the contract, bye. We were told the movers would now be arriving between 10am-2pm on 7/16/22. 1:30pm comes and no word again. We called the ** line and they said the ******* would be calling us when he is on his way. 2pm the ******* calls and said he just got our job dispatched 45 minutes prior and he needed another hour for lunch. They finally show up and it is only one ***** foot truck! Plus they had someone else's stuff in the truck already. He said he knew the truck had the cubic feet we were quoted. We did not have two trucks show up as promised. Our stuff wouldn't fit and we had to literally trash a bunch of furniture, boxes, appliances. Our mattresses were strapped to the outside and he said it would be an extra $2500.00 cash. He reduced it to $1000 after we said no. He wouldn't confirm the delivery date (we were told it would be Sunday) until we told him we had the extra cash. He delivered our stuff on Tuesday but wanted money in hand first. The move went from $5500 to $7694 to $8694 all cash so there is no chargebacks. We want a partial refund as we did not receive what was promised.

This company will lie to you and butter you up many times before your stuff gets picked up and continually give you false delivery dates. We shipped **** cubic feet from PA to WA for $8100. Sales ******** told us it would arrive by July 6, at least on or around that date. We even said the delivery was most important to us, we could ship whenever. Then, on July 6th, after calling many times, dispatch called us and said it would arrive July 9th. On July 8th, we spoke to customer service (****), who told us it would arrive on the 8th or 9th, that he was working all weekend, that we could call, all not true. On the 11th, we called again, and **** said he did not recall speaking to us, even cursed me out for saying he lied, because we were transferred to management (finally), who said our stuff was still in ***** and normally these moves take 30 days. What?! It does not take 17 days to drive to ** from PA, I have done it. They were condescending, saying You can open your own moving company if you know how this works. I have friends whove done cross-country moves and not had such issues. I shipped from PA to ** before and my stuff arrived on the exact day I was told. **** then refused to acknowledge that we even spoke on Friday, that he pulled false delivery dates out of his a** to get us off the phone, and that he had no idea whatsoever where our shipment was when he said that. He was rude, cursed, yelled and did not behave like a customer service rep at all.Meanwhile we could have driven our belongings out here if it was going to take this long. We were expecting it in early July, not after we start work on the 18th. If they had been straight with us, we would have shipped more things via *** and brought more with us or chosen a different company. Instead, we are expected to be in an empty house with none of our belongings or furniture for a month. The $8100 is an absurd charge for such a truly s*** service and horrible people to deal with.

I called them for moving services. As we discussed my needs so the rep could tailor my quote, I started asking if this service was going to cost me thousands of dollars, based on the rep's experience. He insisted we continue. After gathering all necessary info, he asked me to check my email, the quote was in my email. I needed to check over the addresses and the inventory list for accuracy and sign electronically. I saw my total, we verbally talked the numbers and he explained that the total could be broken into 3 payments, the first ($1372.72) of which I needed to pay that day (yesterday, 6/20). At no point during our conversation did he mention their payment plan mean the remainder had to be paid in full by my move-in date/date of service, nor did he mention to me that the payment I was making that day was non-refundable. I expressed concern over the amount, made a joke about getting a single-mom discount - all things that should have prompted the rep to explain their "payment plan", as the remainder of my total ($2525) would be due in 4 days. These terms do not qualify as a payment plan. A payment plan is installments set up to pay at certain intervals, maybe over two week periods or even monthly. Not FOUR DAYS. They advised me to check out financing, which consists of borrowing money and paying it back at a 35% interest rate - with the interest being factored into the principle of the loan. After explaining to ******** R that I misunderstood, she said there was nothing they could do and she really wanted to help me so that I wouldn't lose my $1300 payment that I made yesterday, since it's non-refundable. Here is the caveat - I explained to the rep yesterday that I planned on paying it in full after the close of my house on the 27th, so I was not interested in financing. Again, should have been advised of their non-refundable policy and their payment terms. I just want the flexibility to pay the remaining $2525 by 6/30.

THIS COMPANY IS CRIMINAL. I AM REPORTING TO THE BBB! DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING! They originally told us it would cost 3k for our move. The movers arrived. They were a completely different company that they outsourced with different prices. Of course they know we only have that day to get out of our home that sold and that an ice storm was coming that night. The company that arrived informed us that they charged for blankets and labor to actually wrap and move the furniture on top of the original 3k! We told them that was not what we were told. Selective van lines told us that we could ask for double wrapping and use as many blankets as we needed at no extra cost. They also told us it would be around 5k because we had more things than they thought. Ok so fine, we agreed to pay that because again...we were out of time. Once they loaded all of our furniture up, they told us it would cost over 9k and that they would not release our belongings until we paid it in full. They completey swindled us! On top of all of this, they destroyed our furniture and the company they use for claims makes it impossible to file one. Marble is broken, kitchen table, chairs dressers, almost all of our things are broken. They literally threw rhings in the moving truck. Gasoline spilled all over our cloth furniture as well. They also packed all of the boxes first and then the furniture. Anyone who has ever moved knows that you put furniture and pieces boxes together so it fits tightwr and you dont use more roo. Than needed. We spent no less then 8 hours on trying to submit a claim to get some of our furniture replaced or fixed and IT IS IMPOSSIBLE! They even state that they can deny any claim they want as THEY ALSO ARE A SEPARATE COMPANY FROM SELECTIVE VAN LINES. This is the worst company we have ever encountered and again...telling us it would be 3k and then charging us 9k by holding all of our possessions hostage until we paid is criminal. I hope the BBB will investigate them. SHAME ON
