Janiec Roofing installed a new roof on my house. During the first rain, water leaked into the house. I called about getting the leak fixed and one of their employees came out on Sunday and did something. The next time it rained, the roof leaked again and I called and told Janiec about the problem. One of the brothers came out and applied caulking and may have done something else, but said that if this didn't work to give them a call. Next rain, next leak. Calls to the company have not resulted in any action or even a return call. Contract guarantees the labor for 15 yrs. I need to have this fixed, and I'm not sure that I want Janiec to fix it. They have not been responsive.Business response

I contracted with Janiec Roofing to replace my roof, which they did. I noticed and spoke to the job supervisor about an area that I thought was not correctly done and was told that they had to do it that way and that it was okay. I had had the roof replaced twenty years ago, and that company did not have any difficulty doing it the right way. It appears that Janiec either deliberately or accidently removed a piece of the old roof that was needed to nail shingles around the chimney. It rained within a day or so and I had a stream of water flowing into my front room. In the 48 years that I have lived here, I never has a problem like this. I notified the company and they sent someone to fix the problem. I don't know if they have done this , since we haven't had another hard rain. I spoke to the front office and informed them that I needed to talk with them about compensation for replacing the insulation that was ruined due to their negligence. I have gotten an estimate of $300 for the job. I have not heard anything from Janiec in spite of repeated calls and assurances that Chet would call. It appears that they are ignoring their responsibility.Business response

This matter was already resolved between Mr. **** and Janiec Roofing. We reached out to Mr. **** to discuss the issue and we sent out a check for the repair reimbursement.Customer response
