Please be advised that I entered into an agreement with Craig W. General Contractor of King-Dal Construction, LLC on May 15, 2022, to complete a full renovation of my home due to a massive house fire causing a total loss of my home. Mr. Williams agreed that the renovation would be completed within one year. The deadline for completion was on May 1, 2023. The project was not complete as agreed. Due to the delay an extension was granted until July 1, 2023 for the entire completion. The County's building permit expired in September of 2023 for the entire completion and another extension was applied for by the contractor for an additional 6 months to complete the work. The restoration of my home has been under King-Dal’s construction management for nearly two years. My children and I remain displaced throughout this duration without a home. The total project cost was roughly $229k and $167k was paid representing 73% of the total cost. The payments were made from May 2022 - March 2023. As a result, the inspection failed twice on July 7,2023, September 9, 2023. Several of the same items appeared in both reports as incomplete (i.e. fire blocking, air barrier, and required certifications which not filed with the county). The project remains at less than 50% completion within a 20-month period with the first inspection failing 6 months ago and the second inspection failed 5 months ago. On November 10 and December 1, I reached out to King-dal via email requesting a full accounting for outstanding work in which was paid in advance, return of any materials in possession, and refund for the incomplete work. On January 7, another request was sent for all work to be completed by January 31, 2023, or refunded. I am requesting a full refund for the incomplete work in the amount of $39,000 and a full itemized accounting of outstanding/completed work.
