PJD I HAD MY ROOF REPAIRED DUE TO STORM DAMAGE. AFTER STARTING THE REPAIRS IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE DAMAGE WAS MORE EXTENSIVE. THE REPAIRS WERE HAPHAZARD AT BEST. THE INSTALLER PLACED THE FLASHING OVER THE SHINGLES INSTEAD OF UNDER THE SHINGLES. WHEN I QUESTIONED THIS METHOD I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WAS A STANDARD PROCEDURE. THE RESULTS ARE AN EYESORE. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUALITY WORKMANSHIP.

They do not stand behind their work. Do not use them. We had a brand new roof installed about 10 years ago and when it starting leaking, we called Garden State to get an estimate for the repair since they did the initial installation. The person who came out admitted the problem was due to them installing a ridge vent. He said it was put in to pass an inspection and they had to remove all the shingles on the whole roof to repair. He also said they would have to replace the damaged plywood. My husband starting asking questions about the ridge vent and the removal of all shingles and the response was "Are you a roofer?" And then he was rude and nasty to my husband and said he I am leaving. We never received any quote. They are only interested in new roofs and not helping with repairs. The other roofing company we called said they would never have installed a ridge vent on a low pitched roof so clearly they made a mistake. Spend your $$ on another company.

Used Garden State Roofing for vinyl siding replacement. That part of the project went well. What followed after was a complete disaster. The workers completely sawed off branches of a tree in the front of my home as well as several ******. They made no mention of this beforehand. I would probably have looked into other alternatives - perhaps wrapping the shrubbery or perhaps trimming. They were gone for the day before i noticed the damage. They also left severe slashes in multiple screens and did not mention that either. The Supervisor on the job recognized the fact and was apologetic - fixed screens, but shrubbery has to be replaced. We're still deciding on the $$$ on that portion. Just when i thought it couldnt get any worse, i noticed my back roof was warping and leaking in the attic. It is clearly evident that someone fell thru the roof in 2 places. It is on the exact line that the scaffolding was. Garden State vehemently claims no responsibility. Given their history of walking away from causing damage, in my eyes it is quite evident that they caused the roof issues. Through no fault of my own, I am now in the process of replacing a 7 year old roof because it is completely compromised . I strongly recommend you by-pass Garden State when looking for a contractor.
