    Its always been said that location is everything and the Channel Club in ************** certainly has location. Over at least the past three years, and possibly a little longer, the owner has neglected the ****** ****** of his property to concentrate on two high in restaurants both of which require you to take out a loan to frequent. Neither of the restaurants is really suitable for ****** **** and certainly dont live up to ***************** or The Haul Out which preceded them. As an old time ****** ****** I am extremely disappointed at what has transpired over the past few years but am helpless to make a difference. The litany of problems continues to grow with each passing week and the paying clientele deserve a substantial refund for goods not delivered. Here is a list of some the things gone wrong and how its changed from past years: the swimming pool is not being maintained and is often a sickly shade of unhealthy green; the snack bar at the pool has been discontinued; two of the three toilets in the womens bathroom have not been working fully for a few seasons: the garbage in both the mens and womens bathrooms are frequently overflowing; the towels once supplied are gone; there is no security of any kind on the docks resulting in unknowns walking among the boats; there is no WiFi; there is currently no dockmaster; there are no dockhands to help tying up a boat; there is no one making sure the docks are clean and safe; there are no AEDs; there is no one trained in first aid on the premises; there is no garbage pick up; ice used to be supplied to boaters at no charge; the full service maintenance department has disappeared; the gas dock is up and running but manned by inexperienced teens; the tram to the beach is gone. The list could go on and on. And to add to the situation, any paying clients of the ****** who have complained about what was (is) happening are told straight off if you dont like it here leave which unfortunately in the current boating climate is difficult if not impossible. The ****** owners are unpredictable and vindictive and that is the reason I cant sign my name to this letter. However, I can guarantee you that everything Ive said can be easily confirmed with a weekend visit by any reporter. There has been an obvious major management collapse and as I said before, all clients deserve a substantial refund for services not delivered.
