I bought an 2018 Nissan Altima with a full tire warranty from Acme Nissan in 2021. I needed a new tire after getting a nail or s**** in it while driving. When I took the car to the dealership I was told by their service department that I needed to pay for a new tire at which I advised the service representative that I had a full tire warranty. He then said that the warranty did not covered the tire because the tire wasnt new when I bought the car. I asked to speak to the manager but I was told he wasnt in. So I called repeatedly attempting to speak to the manager to no avail and he never returned my calls. I paid for this tire insurance and Acme Nissan refused to honor it. I was forced to buy a new set of tires from a different place and I want a refund for what I spent and the money I paid for the tire insurance which is obviously a scam.Business response

****************** purchased a 2018 Nissan Altima here at Acme Nissan. The vehicle had approx'ly 34,400 miles on it in May of 2021. A road hazard tire warranty was purchased at that time with a 72 month term. This warranty would also cover future tires if tires were replaced due to normal wear and tear. . The vehicle was purchased as CPO (certified pre-owned) Tire measurements of 2 tires were new and two at 5/32 for cpo. In July of 2022 the vehicle came in for a tire issue losing air. A nail/puncture was found in one tire. That tire measured at 3/32 (vehicle had approximate ****** miles since purchase). The measured tire at 3/32 tread depth is beyond the underwriters' measurements to cover a repair due to the tire needing replacement at or below 3/32. The underwriter (Nissan) would not cover a repair. If tires were replaced at any time (normal replacement interval) The warranty also covers the replacement tires if needed till the end of the contract. If ****************** would like to cancel his warranty, that can be handled through the warranty company. I would imagine a pro-rated refund would be determined. I am rejecting this response because:
At the time of purchase i was assured by the salesman that the warranty would cover all damage to issues to the tires. I was even told not to worry about "small print surprises" in the contract. ***************** is not being truthful or honest as he never returned my calls or messages i left for him. He's response to my complaint is an outright lie. This dealership is unethical and dishonest and so is ******************

We are sorry about the tire issue with ********************** vehicle. Looking at a copy of the contract signed by ******************, states that, the coverage is valid through tread life up to 3/32. A salesperson cannot override what the contract states. I do not believe that a sales person would ever try to tell something different. Other accounts of being unfair and dishonest are an opinion, not based on fact. Look at the contract all the facts read for themselves. If we could've offered any further assistance we would have.Customer response

As I stated before this place is a den of thieves and dishonest salespeople. They have continued to lie even in their response to this complaint. I want this complaint on the record with the BBB so that other hard working people do not become victims of Acme nissan unscrupulous business practices.Thank you.
