I purchased used vehicle from NMM Auto Sales in ******* **, with intentions of buying a "quality used car". After a test drive, and purchasing the vehicle, within 24 hours the check engine light came on, and amazingly a transmission issue occurred. The company told me that "since the car was sold as-is" there's nothing that they will do. How can someone sell a car, knowing that it has transmission issues, without telling the customer.Initial Complaint

I purchased a 2007 **** 350 Super Duty Dually from NMM for $15,000 on May 20th. They assured me that the vehicle had been gone through thoroughly. When we went to look at it, I mentioned that there was a check engine light on and that the rear tires needed replacing to be able to pass NY state inspection. The salesman told me they would take care of it. When I went to pick the truck up, I was only able to drive approximately 5 miles before it overheated. The check engine light was also still on. I called them and was told to let it cool down and return it to them. Upon doing so, I was told that they would have it repaired and ship it to me (splitting the cost). The day it arrived at my house, I took it for a short drive and it overheated again. Since they had given me a warranty, I was not too concerned. I took it to ********* ***** center the next day to have them go through the entire truck and fix whatever needed to be fixed while it was under warranty. They estimated the repair cost at approximately $11,000. The warranty company refused to pay because they stated there was no way all of this happened in the short amount of time I had owned the truck. We have made multiple phone calls to the dealership but it seems like they are giving us the run around. They have claimed that they got the warranty company to approve the repairs but when we contacted the warranty company they are telling us the have not. Today NMM told us that they are switching our warranty to a different company to get this resolved but still nothing. We did not buy a truck just so we could say we own a truck. We would like to be able to drive it. I don't care if the warranty company pays for the repairs or if NMM pays for them. I just don't feel as though we should be held responsible for repairing issues that clearly were present prior to our buying the truck when we were told it was gone through by NMM.Initial Complaint

Vehicles was not as advertised. They assured ** that the vehicle of interest is 'rust-free' which was not true! The frame had major rust problems. The bumper was dented which was cleverly not pictured nor was it mentioned to me before I came. Check engine light came on for a faulty catalytic converter within a week after purchase.Business response

This is in response to the complaint of *********************. None of our vehicles are ever advertised as rust free, you can check our website at nmmusedcars.com. Especially knowing the vehicle is almost 10 years old. The customer came to the dealership with his mechanic to test drive and overlook the vehicle. No arms were twisted on this purchase. If he did not like the vehicle, he could have left without it. For this complaint about the check engine light there is no possible way to know the check engine light would come on after a week. If we had tried to hide that it would have come on while on the ride home since he lives hours away. Also, any mechanic would have been able to spot someone trying to hide a check engine light. All purchases are as is which is clear on the receipt which he signed.Initial Complaint

This business sold me a vehicle with incorrect mileage, had me sign the odometer disclosure form with incorrect mileage. Refused to show me any financial documents relating to my loan and told me Id receive it in the mail from finance company. Predatory lending at its finest, tried to over charge me by $24,000 The dealership knew they messed up when I started questioning the mileage and redid my contract to put the correct numbers and the correct mileage. He submitted this new contract with out me ever reviewing it or signing it. The entire breaking system had to be replaced, tires blew out, has already been towed to the shop, needs transmission work, suspension work and engine work. None of which was disclosed but put in the contract that it had been disclosed to me and I waived them of any liability!!! I have had the truck for a month now, still dont have tags, still dont have parts the dealership promised to send me, total scam artists. Odometer fraud is a federal offense. Forging a signature is a crime. Not disclosing all of these mechanical issues leaving me with thousands in repairs is illegal and violates the consumer protection act. Predatory lending is illegal. The finance company canceled the contract with the dealer due to dealership misconduct the day my first payment was due. Dealership got mad he was caught being a slime bag and sent a repo man to my home. At this point, there has never been a binding contract. He stole my trade in vehicle and now has people illegally trespassing on my property trying to steal this truck. Completely unacceptable. I also have extensive documentation on all of this.
