My secondary insurance (*******) switched to payment by EFT beginning January 1,2024. Summit Medical was contacted by both *******( my secondary insurance ) and myself multiple times to call this # ###-###-#### to receive the paperwork to receive EFT payment but have not done so to date. I keep receiving EOBs stating that the provider cannot be paid because they haven't complied with the request. I need this resolved so that I won't be held personally responsible for payment.

The Billing department is Horrendous!!! They keep coming after me for bills paid and me providing proof through receipts and bank statements. They are also harassing me for a bill that is CLEARLY on a payment plan in the portal!!!! I am not paying this company a dime (other than the payment plan) due to their sloppy, inaccurate practices. I go into a doctors appointment and promptly pay the copay upon check in. They are telling me that they apply it to any bill they would like and it does not necessarily go to the copay. UNBELIEVABLE! Not only that, but they KEEP saying to me that "it goes to other unpaid services" and I have asked 5 times WHICH services and they cannot tell me details or specifics. This place should be shut down. They are also coming after my husband claiming he hasn't paid a copay in 2016! you read that correct and it is 2024. They are disorganized, sloppy and have shady business practices.

      Complaint: 22134943

I am rejecting this response because: I have been working with many people in the billing department including supervisors and am getting nowhere. Their business practices need to change. To have someone walk into an appointment, pay a co-pay upfront and find out that that money can go to other bills is ridiculous. Every bill should be detailed and separate from one another.

I went for 2 office visits, was told I would only be charged $50 for each visit. Between all the past bills (and new Bills) I have received from just those 2 visits, I am being charged $1300. I have already paid $958.48. They keep claiming they will adjust the cost with their supervisor and call back but never do. I looked into the codes they used for the charges and they keep using ones for escalating visit times, (for example Service Code: ***** which is for a 45 min visit - But I was only there for close to 45 min, as they left me in the room waiting for the doc for like 35 minutes, so the 45 min code should NOT have been used). I need a refund and/or a major adjustment to the past and current bills. *Additional point, I was only made aware of the current/new Bill of $301.25 about a month ago, but now their system claims this is 235 days overdue - I wasn't given any notice of this bill before 45 days ago.

I received a text message with a link to a bill that was over a year old where I supposedly owed $60. I called and asked for a copy of the bill. They said they would email it to me, but I never received it. I called the second time and got disconnected. I called the third time And was sent an email with the bill but the code that they sent me wouldnt open the bill so I never got to see the bill fourth time I called. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the person who was asking if they could help me hung up on me , thats great customer service

To start this story I worked at a City Md urgent care at the specific location ******************************************************** as a Receptionist one day I was working with a coworker named ******* I noticed she wasnt handling her half of the responsibilities and asked if she could help me out with the patients or disinfecting the lobby, she proceeded to give me attitude for asking for support during the shift. Things escalated when she made the comment Im not doing s*** which led to us having an argument I proceed to walk to the managers office to remove myself from the situation before everything escalated more , after about 20 minutes I went back to work like normal. Later on in the week my manager pulled me in the office and told me I would be getting transferred to a different location due to ******* making false allegation and claiming she felt unsafe when I never threatened her nor her safety. ******* and I never spoke since the argument and I proceed to work at the new location. Months afterwards I was asked by the manager of my previous location if I could pick up some extra shifts on Mondays only because ******* didnt work this day and she wouldnt feel unsafe like she so claims. I accepted the shift since I needed overtime and knew how this location worked. On January 29,2024 around 12 pm I was sitting at my desk checking in patients when I was approached by a women in her mid 40s I greeted her and asked what brought her in to the urgent care she asked if she was able to speak to me outside regarding the visit this wasnt something uncommon or strange for a patient to ask since it is a small location and many people dont want their medical concerns to be heard I proceed to step out with her as soon as I came out of the door another woman rushes towards me I recognized her it was ******* she started yelling in my face saying Whats up whats up also the woman that asked me to step outside started to yell at me as well I started realizing that the women is her mother and they planned to come to the job on my shift to fight me I asked ******* why she was doing this and they both kept coming towards me that when we started fighting I was getting attacked by her and her mother while security just watched, they robbed me from my jewlery that was worth about $5000. My job resulted in terminating me for self defense I was robbed and assaulted while on my shift by someone who wasnt even on schedule that day. Many coworkers in the location mentioned that ******* was looking at the schedule and asking around and the Manager if I was for sure going to be coming to work on that Monday. This informations being put out by my job and other coworkers jeopardized my safety. I was only trying to defend myself towards two individuals thats planned to attack and *** me on this day. I would like help proceeding with a possible lawsuit towards this company, they also have video footage of the whole incident.

On 12/6/23, I saw a ****** provider at their ***** ***** ****** ********, ** ***** location for an upset stomach using my ***** health insurance. I paid my $15 deductible and my insurance should have covered any further costs. I received a bill for this visit several months later for $285. When I called my insurance as to why I was being billed for a standard urgent care visit, I was told ****** billed it as an administrative test was done. I spoke to ****** and was told they would look into the matter. I never received a response back and keep receiving bills. All ****** has to do is resubmit the insurance claim properly. I’ve gone to several other urgent care visits at ****** for the same reason and all have been covered by insurance. If ****** wants to get paid they will submit the claim properly.

Summit Health keeps harassing me with collection texts and emails, even if the bill for tests were issued today. I havent had more than a few hours to review the bill but here I am getting an onslaught of texts and emails. They did this to me previously over a new $12 bill.

This health care provider cannot seem to retain records. Logged onto my portal today and all recommendations for follow *** and procedures were missing. Online records were wrong, I did not do a deep dive but when it starts out having me still smoking a pack a day when I quit in 2007, and I had two recommended visits on file, including a colonoscopy and yearly well woman visit, this is unacceptable. Was sent a long form to fill out for the colonoscopy which includes much information Summit has on file as all my health goes through them. Impossible to get people on the phone, every month that goes by the service gets worse and worse while they build bigger and bigger appointment facilities. This is dangerous. Someone needs to look into what is happening with this company.

      Complaint: 21418941

I am rejecting this response because:

7 minutes on the phone trying to get to the bottom of this, person on the phone suddenly cannot hear me. Had to wait on hold to talk to this person. Not the first time this has happened when trying to make appointments. Their phone system is a mess. I really do not have time to a. help them understand a problem that I explained, many unnecessary pleasantries, etc. and then have the call dropped. b. fill out paper forms when I can see they have my detailed records on line. c. correct their mistakes

My complaint has to do with the gross inefficiencies of this health care system (Summit) except in the case of billing, where they are very speedy and efficient.

They need to fix their phone system and remove all the barriers for patients who are merely seeking health care.

      Regards,

On 3/11/24, I reached out to Summit trying to resolve two matters. The first, which involves patient care, is that the company no longer provides a general number for patients to call. It used to exist on the landing page for the business. It has disappeared making it almost impossible to reach anyone who can assist and forward you to the necessary people. Second, two departments, including patient relations, could not assist me with information that was missing on my patient portal. They kept on suggesting that my history was present, but they failed to understand, including speaking to a supervisor, that I was seeking information about family history such as family member and condition not my own history. I was told to email tech support because they could not be reached by phone. Email, when the information was needed immediately? Summit appears to be no longer be focused on health care.

This was still not fixed properly. I had a call and they stated it was going to be fixed. They then changed the sum to $28.00. This was strictly a wellness visit which was validated by the Summit representative that called me. This was not resolved. In addition this company has continual trouble with billing. They never get the coding correct.
