The dental office charged me $271.00 for charges that they should not have. When I called Delta Dental and told them that the dentist office charged me for the Second Stage Implant, under Delta Dental code D6011. That code clearly states that the dental office cannot charge either Delta Dental or the patient (myself) for the second stage implant. I had originally gone in for the initial dental implant under Code D6010 and paid my portion of that, and then in March 2023, went in and got the implant abutment placed for the second stage of the implant. I have been discussing this with supervisor ******* for over a month now, but she still has not resolved getting my incorrectly charged money back! Recently, I also just started working with *******'s manager, but another week has passed with no results. The dental office advised that they are aware that the second stage of the implant is not billable, but yet they billed me anyway. Delta Dental has advised that the second stage of the implant is not billable, but yet they have not told the company that they incorrectly billed me so that I can get my money back.Business response

Regarding the complaint from *********************** we have been in contact with the ******** provider that incorrectly charged the member. The office has not been cooperative in providing a refund to the member. Delta Dental of ** will be giving **************** a check for $271 and will find our on recourse in getting our money back from the office.Initial Complaint

Delta Dental - I have been a customer for a number of years now. I made the mistake of mailing a checks for 2 months instead of using billpay through my bank. They sent a refund check - actually 2 of them - but the payee is Delta Dental, not me so the bank won't cash the check. I have called them on a couple times about this and they will not do anything about it. One rep even told me they don't send out checks - as I'm sitting there with a check in my hand. I want a refund check MADE OUT TO ME, NOT DELTA DENTALBusiness response

My dentist informed me that they no longer accept Delta. I reached out to cancel. As an aside, although they allow sign up over the phone, they do not allow termination by phone, and it was a real pain in the neck. I pay monthly, and have been since inception. Delta however, decided they refuse to cancel my plan until the end of the calendar year. I am having money thrown into the garbage. I never agreed to lock in every year. When I signed up the rep told me that I will need remain for a minimum of 12 months, but I can cancel after that. I believe they should allow me to leave effective immediately. If they want to terminate effective January 1st of 2022 and refund the money they charged, I am fine with that.Business response

********************* enrolled in the Enhanced Family PPO Plan III over the phone with a representative on 12/04/2018 for a 01/01/2019 effective date. Our records show the member started seeing ******************************* as of June 2021. Per our records ********************** has not been in any Delta Dental network since 2020. Prior to seeing this provider, the member was seeing ********************************************* starting 01/01/2019 until 02/2021. The members most recent renewal date was 01/01/2022. ************* saw ********************** on March 24th, 2022 for a filling that paid $39. Mr. ****** policy will be canceled as of 4/1/2022.Customer response

Delta Dental approved $2,000 payment for my kids braces when treatment started. They Advise me and the ortho office they would pay the full $2k which would be their part. Based on this I signed a contract with ortho to pay the remaining $3k. After I paid in full my $3,000 portion Delta only pays $1800. They made small payments until they reach the $1800. When questioned they advise dentist office that they mistakenly paid another dentist who did NONE of the work. That they didnt Realize it until months later nor did they advise us. Its been 3 months now being ignored by customer service ******** ******** **** ***.., without any ethical moral remorse that my kids treatment has been put on hold for their $200 mistake. They keep promising to resolve but have not. Now They ignore our emails and phone calls. This isnt the only problem. They paid another dentist for another work to be done but 8 months later their dentist still wasnt available to do the work. In pain desperate we had to go elsewhere and pay again. So we paying insurance premium and they paying dentists without patient getting work. Only the patient suffering the consequences.Business response

Good Day, We have resolved the matter with ***************** regarding her sons ortho claim payment. ***************** sought a consultation for her son at ******************** office. There has been a discrepancy between ****************** office and the ****** family. The ****** family is under the impression that the consultation should have been free. **************** submitted a claim for the work associated with the consult. This caused $179.50 to be taken from the childs ortho benefit. The ****** family did not select ****************** office and choose to have ********************** perform the ortho work. We have processed a claim payment for the $179.50 to be paid to **********************, this will give the child the full $2,000 payment. We confirmed that this was a resolution that ***************** would be satisfied with on 1/5/2022.
