Here is the full details about my recent encounter with A2B.In an effort to hold them accountable, I made an anonymous post the other day, sharing my dreadful experience with this shop that did me dirty. While I refrained from revealing their name initially it was to no avail and ***** failed to take accountability.. He offered a settlement of $7,500, deducting what he claimed I owed him. Astonishingly, even after being responsible for the disastrous first and second builds, ***** still insisted on payment back to him. He was drawing up an agreement since last Friday which till this day I never got.Caught between desperation and skepticism, I cautiously replied, proposing $6,100, assuming there were no other significant issues with the motor and maybe this can cover rehoning and a set of pistons. To my surprise, he agreed. However, on the day he was supposed to send the full amount of $3,100, a lawyer contacted me on *****'s behalf. This lawyer, who happened to be his friend's wife, inquired about my legal representation. Confused by this sudden turn of events, as I had not indicated having legal representation, I realized that A2B was employing stalling tactics. Frustrated by their lack of transparency, I decided to walk away. It became apparent that they had failed to send me the promised agreement to keep silent, also known as a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). It was a risky situation for me since we hadn't even conducted a leak-down test at that point.Cutting the long story short, we eventually performed the leak-down test, and the motor has significant leakage from the crank case and the exhaust side manifold. Even worse, cylinder one was flooded with oil, while at idle. It became evident that the motor needed a complete teardown. To add insult to injury, I had paid a whopping $32,000 for the first build, inclusive of new pistons, rods, a turbo kit, clutch pack, fueling, and all the necessary labor. I paid the full amount and eagerly picked up the car, and thats when the s*** storm started.Within 12 days of having the car, I began experiencing misfires, low oil levels, and eventually, a the motor blew. I made a total of five trips to the shop, before it blew up to solve the issue with the misfire, low oil levels, sluggish driving and constant back and fourth, but ***** adamantly refused to take responsibility for any of the issues. He absurdly claimed that I had melted a piston and that the car had been running lean. However, no evidence in the logs supported his claims. Given the notorious reputation of ********** being blown, it is entirely plausible that ***** simply grabbed a melted piston from another motor, attempting to shift the blame and snap photos of it to make it appear as it melted.. Upon inspecting the car at the shop, we discovered a broken piston in cylinder three, completely debunking his theory of melting. The block also had a gaping hole.Nevertheless, despite everything, I decided to give ***** another chance to make things right, as he had promised. He sent me a bill for $8,500 to cover the cost of sleeving the motor and his labor. Trusting his intentions, I paid $5,500 upfront and fully intended to settle the remaining balance. However, to my dismay, we soon uncovered additional issues during the rebuild. These included blue smoke emanating from the exhaust and strange motor sounds. Upon checking the oil, we found it to be low, even though it had been recently topped off. Further investigation with a borescope revealed that the sleeves were already damaged, oil was present in all five cylinders, the spark plugs exhibited signs of pre-detonation and a lean condition, and the pistons appeared to be damaged as well. But the list of problems didn't end there. We discovered numerous other issues that further highlighted the shoddy workmanship at A2B: Intercooler pipes rubbing against sway bar end links Intake pipe rubbing against A/C lines Fuel filter and fuel lines left unsecured All cylinders showing signs of oil presence and damage Spark plugs indicating pre-detonation and lean conditions Mac valve directly mounted to the motor, compromising its longevity MAP and IAT sensors left unsecured 1 EGT wire caught between the shifter cable Oil found inside turbo intake at the inlet ********* drain making contact with the axle, causing a kink 2 clamps being worm clamps instead of T-bolt clamps Exhaust system bearing black residue, possibly due to oil burning Throughout this ordeal, I remained silent, hoping against hope that ***** would understand the gravity of his actions and make things right. Regrettably, he failed to grasp the severity of his negligence. I genuinely believe that he is merely winging it and treating this businesses as a cash grab. It seems he assumes people have endless money to spend on motor rebuilds. Let me be clear: I did not invest my hard-earned money to overlook what has transpired. As a husband, a father of three, and someone burdened with numerous responsibilities, I cannot afford to turn a blind eye to this. To make matters worse, I had to take out a loan for this ill-fated build, further compounding my distress. In my eyes, ***** is nothing short of a scammer, and nothing can change my opinion at this point. I am confident that I am not alone in this experience as *** already had numerous conversation behind the scenes of people suing him and things of that nature. Many others have likely suffered in silence, just like me. I implore you, if you have faced similar issues at A2B or know someone who has, it's time to speak up. This guys on the truth and prevent others from falling victim to this unscrupulous shop. Rest assured, there are far better options out there, establishments that uphold integrity and truly value their customers.
