I was a patient in the adult emergency room in mid-May. One of the first things I was asked to do was to remove all of my jewelry while I waited to be evaluated. I was wearing five earrings, a necklace, two ****** piercings, and a metal weight. All of this was taken from me (except the metal weight) and put in a bag, which they said they would hold until I was done being evaluated. After the evaluation, the medical staff decided I should be transferred to another facility. Before I was transferred, I was told I would have to remove the final piece of jewelry (the metal weight), and when I did, it was put in a separate bag from the rest of my jewelry. I confirmed they would be sending the weight along with the rest of my belongings and jewelry to the next facility, as I was not allowed to hold them during transport.Fast forward about ten days, and I am being discharged from the facility I was transferred to. They are going over all of my belongings that they received when I was transferred. They documented in painstaking detail every item they received from Overlook, down to the color, shade, and brand of socks I had been wearing. I asked where my jewelry was, and they informed me they did not receive any jewelry from Overlook. They also conducted a search in case it had been accepted but not logged, and they came up empty-handed.I have reached out to the *** the security office, and the office that handles lost items. The first two have informed me its not their responsibility, so they wouldnt have it (the ** staff was quite rude and gave me the runaround on two separate occasions over the course of three phone calls, while the security officials were always pleasant and helpful to the best of their ability). The third office just continues to tell me theyll keep an eye out for my jewelry. The earrings ranged in value from $5 to $10 each. The other two piercings were $45 for the pair, the necklace was $100, and the weight was $60.

I am writing regarding a $6,220.75 bill that my insurance company, Meritain Health said I was not responsible for. Atlantic Health System-Overlook Hospital, said that I am. The Hospital created this ridiculous situation, took no blame, and are 100% responsible for this bill. Meritain Health, Accredo & the Union Hall have extremely specific guidelines about how specialty medicines MUST be purchased. Accredo requires that this Specialty Drug be purchased through them only. I have previously been burned by AHS Overlook. Years ago, a doctor treated my son in the Emergency Room. I received a bill for $15,000, I had the same insurance. AHS-Overlook did not follow any of the procedures. The hospital decided to use the medicine that they had purchased, and then they billed Meritain. I was told this is called a *********** Buy & Bills are not allowed by Accredo or Meritain. Instead of AHS-Overlook working with Accredo, as protocol REQUIRED, they billed Express Script, and bypassed Accredo completely. I have pages and pages of notes showing who Ive spoken to, what date and time, and what department I spoke to over the last 2 years. AHS-Overlook did not follow ANY of Meritain and Accredos requirements. I felt that Dr. ** and I didnt communicate well, and I decided to go for a second opinion. Dr. *** whose office is in AHS-**********, decided to keep me in Orencia. Dr. *** ********** Office followed ALL procedures correctly. They spoke to Accredo and purchased the Orencia from Accredo. There have been many sleepless nights over this. Hair loss and rashes over this. My last effort was to go to the ********************************** They made the comment that is was my fault because I should have known how my insurance works. I do know how my insurance works. Since this is a Specialty medicine, call Accredo. If they decide to never call Accredo, to never follow procedures, to bill $6,220 now, $15,000 before with Insurance, the idea of "Do No Harm" is moot.
