I was a patient in the adult emergency room in mid-May. One of the first things I was asked to do was to remove all of my jewelry while I waited to be evaluated. I was wearing five earrings, a necklace, two ****** piercings, and a metal weight. All of this was taken from me (except the metal weight) and put in a bag, which they said they would hold until I was done being evaluated. After the evaluation, the medical staff decided I should be transferred to another facility. Before I was transferred, I was told I would have to remove the final piece of jewelry (the metal weight), and when I did, it was put in a separate bag from the rest of my jewelry. I confirmed they would be sending the weight along with the rest of my belongings and jewelry to the next facility, as I was not allowed to hold them during transport.Fast forward about ten days, and I am being discharged from the facility I was transferred to. They are going over all of my belongings that they received when I was transferred. They documented in painstaking detail every item they received from Overlook, down to the color, shade, and brand of socks I had been wearing. I asked where my jewelry was, and they informed me they did not receive any jewelry from Overlook. They also conducted a search in case it had been accepted but not logged, and they came up empty-handed.I have reached out to the *** the security office, and the office that handles lost items. The first two have informed me its not their responsibility, so they wouldnt have it (the ** staff was quite rude and gave me the runaround on two separate occasions over the course of three phone calls, while the security officials were always pleasant and helpful to the best of their ability). The third office just continues to tell me theyll keep an eye out for my jewelry. The earrings ranged in value from $5 to $10 each. The other two piercings were $45 for the pair, the necklace was $100, and the weight was $60.
