My dog was completely misdiagnosed as having an infection, given multiple antibiotics, never given any diagnostics, and when a lymph node was enlarged, it was never aspirated. The incompetent doctor's entire point was "His blood work looks good."I currently have cancer, so does mine. Finally brought ho to Garden State.Metastatic cancer.************ needs to lose his license.Review from Barbara C

I took my dog, who was in serious condition as he had a high fever and low energy. I visited ********* vets, and as they were not sure exactly what was wrong with my dog, I came to the Redbank host hospital. I showed all the blood reports from NorthStar and Redbank. The findings were that the dog was having multiple issues with internal bleeding, and the doctor was very hospitable about telling us that each day would cost around $8000, there were little chances of a dog's survival, and the treatment could last up to six months. They advised that the best decision is to put him down, as his liver is failing at 70% along with other organs. We liked the honesty of the hospital and not thinking pet owner and money bank. The staff also showed affection to the dog and felt the pain when we said the final good-bye. We had to make a tough decision to put him on his own, and he was chargeable.Red Bank Veterinary Hospital-Tinton Falls Response

We are so sorry for the loss of this client's beloved family member. We are glad the client felt the sincerity of the staff's understanding of what the client was experiencing, as all our staff being the wonderful pet lovers that they are, are here for the patient and their families and truly understand what the families are going through. Unsure if there were some typos in the client's message as the cost would not have been $8,000.00 a day, though this patient's medical condition was critical and the patient would have required much care and treatment and having a questionable outcome, euthanasia was offered as an option. Our very best to the family.Review from Zoe S

I am deeply saddened to write this review about my recent experience at ******** Vet Hospital. My beloved pet's health crisis brought us to this facility, but the care we received left us profoundly disappointed and emotionally scarred. Our pet had been suffering from distressing symptoms, which we suspected might be kennel cough due to his recent stay at a boarding facility. Unfortunately, the veterinarian, Dr. ****** dismissed this possibility outright and opted for a battery of costly tests instead. This decision, coupled with her inexperience and a severe lack of empathy, led to an excruciating ordeal for both my family and our pet. Dr. ******* inability to diagnose a common condition, which even laypersons in our circle correctly identified, speaks volumes about her competence. We were made to believe our pet was on the brink of death, and her failure to consider a plausible diagnosis caused immeasurable emotional trauma. Moreover, the financial burden imposed upon us by this misguided approach was substantial. Despite expressing our concerns and requesting alternative options, we felt coerced into accepting a course of action that left us terrified for our pet's life. Dr. ******* lack of transparency and empathy only exacerbated the situation, leaving us in despair. To make matters worse, our subsequent attempts to address our concerns with the hospital's management were met with dismissiveness and a refusal to acknowledge the gravity of the situation. This utter disregard for our well-being, both emotionally and financially, is unacceptable. I implore anyone seeking quality veterinary care to consider alternative options that prioritize the well-being of your pets and your family's emotional health.Review from Donna K

Took my parakeet there and they wouldnt let me stay with her to keep her calm. Parakeets get stressed very easily. The first question they asked was do I want my parakeet revived with compressions if it goes into cardiac arrest. I would assume youre a dr and if your patient is in distress you would do whatever you can to save them. Well later the Dr came out to tell me she saw I wanted my parakeet revived and then told me its an extra $500 to do compressions. I was appalled. They kept my parakeet in the back for hours and then called me in to tell me she passed. They only care about the money.Review from Julie S

Over $15K spent in one month and no definitive diagnosis. Dog was admitted multiple times for stay in ICU due to severe vomiting and diarrhea. Numerous tests to include multiple ultrasounds and biopsy and nothing conclusive. The last stay in the **** the IM dr was out of town so the covering doctor advised he was doing well and eating. Upon pick up he looked horrible and gaunt. I barely got to the parking lot and he had ****** diarrhea. Went back into the hospital and front staff called the doctor. She tried to provide an explanation to the front staff about the diarrhea but I requested to speak with her. She gave me "it is normal" and dismissed us. On ride home I contacted my regular vet and asked for him to be seen. My regular vet was appalled by the condition that he was sent home. I do say that the initial ER team was wonderful and the IM doctor he intially saw also wonderful. She updated me and provided a plan of action. Perhaps a different outcome if she had remained his doctor. But I was just so saddened by how he was discharged the last time, I didn't want to go back. You can do better *********Review from Alex A

This used to be our go to vet, but now we will be sure not to go back. They almost cost us a few grand telling us we needed to see a specialist for our dogs eye. We decided to get a second opinion and I'm very glad we did. The second vet took one look at Lady and immediately said her eye looked great. He ran two more tests and said there was no sign of any ulcer and all he found was a tiny scratch. He gave us medicine to clear it up and sent us on our way. He said the ulcer likely healed within the first two weeks and the extra follow up and medicine wasn't even needed. How does it make sense that ******** saw Lady three times and on the third visit tells us her ulcer is still there and we need to get her to an opthalmologist all the way in ***** ASAP. The first visit we were given eye drops, pills and a syringe of medicine. The second visit they had to make a completely new concoction because "the ulcer is still there" and then they claimed she had fleas. That miraculously were gone within a week of us going back. We didn't do any treatment because we searched and searched and saw nothing and Lady had just been groomed and had all of her treatment a month before this entire fiasco, but somehow by the time we went back she was flea free. ******** has completely gone downhill, and they want nothing more than money. The new ownership is horrible and I am pulling every single one of my dogs out this week and transferring them. Although I'm sure that will be a hassle in itself because they refused to send my mom's vet records to her new vet. The new owners only care about money.Review from Tiar W.

I was referred to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital by the dogs primary Vet for surgery for a Perineal Hernia. All seemed well at first, they you have come in for a consultation and the visit will be $220 which was disclosed up front. The day of the appointment we weren't allowed to accompany our pet in due to covid which is totally understandable. They came and got him from the car and brought him back within 5 minutes and told me nothing that my primary Vet hadn't already. I proceeded to schedule the surgery but unfortunately no one could give me an estimate of what that might cost. I attempted calling again about a week later for an update still nothing apparently no one will know the cost until the surgery is performed. So now I'm confused what the purpose of the consultation was. The truth is this facility are glorified scam artist that specialize in emergencies to back you in a corner squeeze thousands out of you. I will have to speak to my primary vet about removing them from the referral list ****DO YOUR RESEARCH READ THE REVIEWS**** I wish I would have read the reviews before I went I wanted to trust them because my primary vet referred me there.Review from rose
