Community Medical Center (RWJBarnabas Health), ******************************** *** hospital holds almost 600 beds.My complaint is that they do not have valet parking and the handicap spots in the garage are not handicap. I dont know the definition of a handicap parking spot, but the distance from their handicap spots to the hospital do not fit any definition of a handicap spot. I will now tell you the parking layout.***y have 2 areas for handicap parking outside the garage. One is next to the building, about 20 parking spots. Good.*** other is outside of the parking garage maybe 15 spots. *** garage is a distance from the entrance to the hospital.***y have handicap parking in the garage. On each floor, there is a line of handicap spaces along the length of the garage. It is 1 row of about 20 cars. If you want 20 handicap spots, you put 10 on each side of the lane closest to the elevator. ***se handicap spots should be closer to the stairs/elevator. I went to the hospital twice in September 2022 to visit 2 different patients. At my first visit, I had to park on the third floor of the garage, not near the elevator. ***re is a bench between the garage and the door to the hospital. I had to stop and rest when I arrived and when I left.On my second visit, I could not make the visit. ***re were NO handicap spots outside the garage and/or near the elevator. I had physical therapy at Community a few years ago and used the valet parking. I was told that since the virus, there has been no valet parking. I dont understand how it is ok for a hospital this size to not have the valet parking and/or more handicap spots closer to the hospital.
