I hired All Type Home Inspections to complete a home inspection on the property I was purchasing as a buyer and ****************************** completed the home inspection on or around November 23rd 2022. He rated everything as satisfactory even though he could not test the water heater at that time. I was ok with the inspection as I never would imagine as a homeowner what the next couple of weeks would bring. I moved in December 2022 and turned the heat on and the whole house blew out dirt and dust and a horrible smell. Dust came from the vents and was upstairs and downstairs. The duct work had deceiving silver grayish tape that someone like a home inspector should have spotted. He took pictures of some of the duct work but not the pieces that had holes and tape all over it. I contemplated what to do and before I knew it there was a horrible smell within hours coming from the vents/ductwork. I had someone professional come and look and got a price to repair and replace and I was told the inspector is not responsible for what is inside the vents like toys, small objects, etc. But it is his responsibility to inform you and document the inspection that would show the work that needed to be done on the ductwork such as visible repairs needed. There was a sweet smell coming from the kitchen on the one side by the kitchen and when someone was called and looked at it they spotted huge mold spots with mold and defects in the wood in the basement with white spots. It rained the next day and water started to pour in the basement by the ***********. The steps were removed mold and water were shown to be a problem under there. I called and got estimates and had some work completed by a professional and also my husband and I bought materials and tried our best to make it somewhat fixed without incurring a huge cost temp until we figure out what is going on. I contacted **** and sent over all the pictures he acknowledged receipt of photos but never responded to fix the problems
