Hsc accepted job to install solar tube skylight said they have done them before, two in stallers showed up, they wasn't sure how to install & got there supervisor ***** to show up & he went over it with them & left them to install, they told me they are done & left. After a wind storm debris got inside the solar tube & collected on the lens cover, called ***** the supervisor, he had somebody come out to fix, but didn't follow manufacturers installation manual & used some kind of puddy instead of foam tape that they used elsewhere on the solar tube that was to go around the top & side of roof flange that the plastic dome married to, called back after bad wind storm came & debris was there again, ***** lied & made up things to me & wasn't concerned of the fact they didn't install it correctly!, making excuses as well that things was missing from the kit, which was ****!, i was with the them & went through the contents of the kit!, so he refused to make it right & said " we are not going to come out again". They can't accept money & not do the job correctly!, they should be fined & have their licensed revoked for gross misconduct of a licensed contractor!.

see attached in April I called Home service Contractors to come and service my Air conditioner. (l had just purchased this mobile home,Moved in Dec, 23rd.) April 13rd ****** their serviceman came, he cleaned and checked the unit and got it ready for the season. I Follwed him around asking questions,He told me it had a leak ,He showed me the vial of stop leak ,l asked him" what hapeens if it starts leaking again?" he said it should last awhile but if it starts leaking again the air conditioner will keep on running but it wont be as cold. He he had to add more refrigerant, afterwards he said the leak wasnt as bad as he thought because he only had to add 1 lb. I asked him about the filter ,to please show me how to replace it, what size , and when would i need to replace it When he left, he left it running, after a n hour or so I turned it off, the next day i turned it back on to set it on a comfortble setting because i was leaving for California , and my Friend **** ******* was going to house and dog sit for me, It worked fine, On may 2nd **** texted saying the Air conditioner was not working that it was blowing hot Air I called a freind of mine **** who is an Electrician, to please go and check it for me, thinking **** had put it on the wrong setting,He told me he had a hard time opening the door to the unitrthat it was sucked in.that it needed a bigger vent on the door ,for the air to flow (return air) Meanwhile I received an invoice # ****** (see attached)for $300.24. I called H.S Contractors and informed tham it was not working,They informed me that they would send a someone to check it. On April 3rd ****** came to check it. **** called me after ****** left , told me that ****** said that the Condenser had burned out, that the 13/ 8 vent on the unit door(See attached) was not big enough, that the door needed a vent, grill three times the size, and that that, was what had caused the condenser to burn out. I contacted the owner ***** *****, told him what happened, He came ,he was very angry yelling at me that the air conditioner had never worked, becuse the condenser was burned out He had a copy of the Invoice,(invoice attched) on the bottom of he's , stated that the condenser needed to be replaced. that was added on before he came to talk to me, i could tell he was surprised when i showed him the original invoice.(see Attached) He yelled at me "what do you want me to do? I told him i wanted him to take resposibility for the condenser burning out, that When ****** came to service the unit he should have told me it needed a bigger grill, vent, on the unit door, He kept yelling" the air conditioner does not need vents, They do not need Vents!! l" He said ****** ****** would come and give me an estimate to get it running again. ****** came, he told me that ****** claimed to have told me (when he came to service it), that the unit door needed a bigger grill. He did not, Its my word against he ll s. ****** said, They would deduct the service invoice # ****** ( $300.24 See attched) from their estimate, that they would furnish 2 floor air conditioners while the unit was being worked on ,and that they would install a 25/16 grill on the door at no cost to me," IF" i excepted thier estimate. Long story short, Their estimate ( Home Service Contractors) was $7,934.00. I contacted two other Heat an air companies for estimates ******* ******* *** *** ************, they said the coil was filthy they cleaned it, replaced the filter stating it was not the right one for the unit. Their estimate $5,800.00 called ******* *************, , told him what happened, he told me If he was going to get it running again,i better replace the small vent(see attaced) on the unit door with a bigger grill (25/16)before he would work on it, because he would not want to be responsible for that happening again. He's estimate, $4,439.57 . I have excepted *** ****** estimate,l coud not stand the heat any longer, I went to the bank to borrow the money.(Thank God I have good credit rating ) I am 84 years old, I receive $808.00 from Social Security, I cannot afford this ,l feel that Home Service contractors should reimburse me the $4,439.57. If ****** had informed me about the unit door needing a bigger grill I would have asked my son to install it my theory? the previous owner must have had the door removed, for air flo, and replaced the door when they put it up for sale.

We stand behind out statement that was given to the *** ****** ******** ********* *******

      Good Afternoon:
I was completely shocked to receive this complaint. We have been in business for 20 years and have an excellent reputation throughout Alamogordo and the surrounding area.
Regarding the complaint by Mrs. ********:
Mrs. ******** stated that she recently purchased an older mobile home that is located at *** ********* *********** ** and had no inspections done on the heating and cooling system prior to purchase. The existing system is extremely old, was not installed properly or up to New Mexico State Code. Prior to April 13, 2023, Home Service Contractors had never done work at that address.
On April 13, 2023, Home Service Contractors cleaned and checked that refrigerated air unit for the season upon the request of Mrs. ********. Upon arrival, our service technician, ****** ******, performed a diagnostic on the unit and found it to be very low on freon. At that point, he did a leak check and found the indoor coil to be leaking. ****** advised Mrs. ******** of the problem and proceeded to fill the unit with freon as well as a sealer that has a high success rate of sealing leaks in refrigerated air systems. After service was completed, the air conditioner was working as designed.
20 days later, on May 2, 2023, we were notified that the unit was no longer cooling. ****** went back to the property and found that the compressor had failed. At that point, ****** installed a hard start kit which will sometimes help compressors turn back on. The hard start kit did not resolve the issue. At this point, Mrs. ********'s house sitter was informed that the compressor had failed and would need to be replaced.
Also at that time, ****** informed the house sitter that the return air duct system is too small and should be replaced with a larger  system which would be included in the estimate that would be given to replace the faulty equipment.
On May 26, 2023, Mrs. ******** was given an estimate to replace the mobile home furnace, indoor coil, condenser with pad, line set, roof jack, and to increase the size of the return air system in the amount of $7,934.00. Mrs. ******** informed Home Service Contractors that she could not afford that and would like other options. She was then given a verbal estimate to replace the condenser and coil for approximately $5,000.00. She again requested a less expensive option than that and she was given a verbal estimate for condenser only for approximately $3,800.00 which would offer no warranty due to the damaged indoor coil. The customer opted to think about it over the weekend, at which point Home Service Contractors provided free of charge 2 portable air conditioning units to keep her comfortable over the weekend or until the equipment was installed if she accepted one of the estimates that had been given.
The following week, she informed Home Service Contractors that she would be using another contractor, at which point we picked up the portable cooling units.
Since that time, we have not been contacted by Mrs. ********, nor has her invoice for the work completed on April 13, 2023 in the amount of $300.24 been paid.
To be very clear, even if the return air system would have been increased to the proper size at that time, the outcome for the compressor would have been the same due to improper installation and lack of maintenance by previous owner(s).
Thank you for your time. If you have any further questions, please contact our office

At this time, no, it has not been resolved.
On July 1st I sent a letter to the owner ,***** *****. (copy enclosed).
On July 6th I received a call from Mr. *****,He informed me that he had received my letter. He again said that he knew they were not responsible for the air conditioner Is condenser freezing up,but he was willing to not charge me for the invoice #****** for the amount of $300.24.

      (service call ,copy enclosed)
But before he hung up he said he should take me to court for slander, referring to me contacting Attorney General and BBB.
I dont know if that ment he was retracting he's offer.
Untill I get something in writing, stating I do not have to pay the $300.24 1 feel this issue will not be resolved.
