Engaged OTT roofing to inspect my roof and give me a diagnosis. Roofer stated he could patch the roof and guarantee it would not leak. He charged me over $2000 and this did not work. At this time the roofer had been on the roof a handful of times and stated he could put in a new TPO roof and it would cost $13000 . He then stated he would give me credit for the $2000 for the failed patch work and that did not reflect on the bill for $13000.. I gave the roofer an $8000 deposit at the end of Aug 2021. Work did not start till late September almost 5 weeks after I gave my initial deposit. All the while the roof is leaking every time it rains damaging the inside of the home and causing more damage to the interior of the home. The roofer Larry and owner 5 weeks after the initial deposit tells me his crew is at the job site and sends me a photo of the roof being stripped down to the decking. Then I got an email with an invoice for an additional $17000 stating that this was extra cause he did not know the roof had so many layers. I did not agree. So he then stated that he would have his crew leave the roof the way it is and tarp it if I don't agree to pay. Basically extorting me for $17K .. I told him this is extorsion and he continued to say he would have his workers leave. So I told him if he did not finish I would file complaint with RDL and CID if he did not follow the contract. He then stated he would not leave the roof like that and finish If I agreed to pay him. I agreed under duress due to the fact that our $1million home was exposed to more damage. He demanded I sign a new contract which I did NOT sign. I filed a complaint with EID and RDL and found out he never pulled a permit for the work. He did finish the project however he is threatening to file a lien on my property. The job was supposedly completed 4 weeks ago however there is still roof debri full dumpster at the site and he continues to harass and call me names via text. Cooling unit is also missing $750.
