In July 2023 I took out a car loan with RGFCU. I thought that their approval was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was satisfied with the interest rate and payment terms. I filed bankruptcy in November 2019, after leaving an abusive relationship with my children’s father. Since then, I took care of my credit, made no late payments and tried my best to stay out of debt. Recently, in November 2023 I fell behind, and I knew that I would have my first late payment on my credit Reports, ever. Previous to the discharge of my bankruptcy I also never had late payments reported to my credit. This is because i filed bankruptcy as soon as I realized that I was drowning in debt and that I would not be able to pay. No late payments were ever reported. I waited patiently to see if the bank would report me late. To my surprise they reported me late in November, December and January, although I was only late 30 days for the month of November. After speaking to a woman on the phone I was left with so many questions. She belittled me by reminding me that I had “only made little payments” and that they “ had to report accurately to the credit bureaus” I kept trying to explain to her that they were in fact not reporting accurately, and she continued to criticize me for making partial payments. I asked for proof of exactly where each payment went and she could only provide me with days and amounts, which I can see on the app. She could not provide me with exactly what month each part of the payments went to. At some point she explained that the tellers may have issued some of the partial payments to the principal instead of the monthly payments. She directed me to put in another dispute. I asked to speak with someone above her and she said that she was in charge and that there was no one else I could speak to. I told her I couldn’t believe she wasn’t even willing to try to understand what I was telling her. I’m totally devastated and currently seeking legal advice
