      On 1-22-22, I ordered flowers in the amount of $155.09 from the Getz Funeral Home webpage for the services of **** ********* **. to be held on 1-26-22. I received a confirmation email at 12:22 on 1-26-22 from Florist One stating the flowers were delivered. During the services, I noticed that the flowers we ordered were not present. After the services, I spoke with someone from the funeral home who said the flowers weren't delivered, were not in the flower room and I would need to contact the florist. I contacted the florist as was told that Chad received the flowers before the service. I called Getz and spoke with Chad who said he needed to investigate. He called me back, stated the flowers were in fact delivered and took blame for not making sure they were present for the service. He stated that he would refund my money by check and make sure the flowers were delivered to the family. My husband called him the same day and provided our address. Today, 4-2-22, I do not have any confirmation that the flowers were ever delivered to the family AND I have not received a refund for the flowers that were $155.09.

      I agree that we did admit fault. I have taken the address of the consumer from this file and am sending a refund immediately. The family was notified of the flowers and asked to pick them up the following morning.

      Contacted Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces New Mexico to conduct graveside service for my Dad. Point of contact was Chad G***. Dad was a Korean War Veteran and entitled to a burial with full military honors. On the day of the service at the gravesite, 20 mins before the service began. Chad informed us that there was a problem and the Honor Guard would not be available. Could not reschedule service because we had family members from as far away as Virginia attending. Chad offered the US flag that should have been placed on the casket. The flag is of no significance unless it is taken from the casket and folded and presented to the family by a military member. Paid $6230.81 in advance for a service that was not provided. Approximately $3200 was for the casket. Want a refund of the balance and an explanation from the owner, Terry G*** why he did not respond to my calls to resolve this matter amiable.

      We apologize for the inconvenience that occurred the day of the service. On July 23, 2021, Chad had an arrangement conference with the family of Mr. ********. At that arrangement conference the family selected to have an Immediate /Direct Burial with casket as selected, I have included a copy of our General Price List to help define this selection. We do offer to assist our families, as a curtsy with arranging for Military Honors. The Department of Defense will send a 2-man detail, for any veteran, to play TAPS and present the flag. The Department of Defense will only send a full detail if the veteran is a 20 plus year retiree.  Unfortunately, on the day of the burial the detail for military honors was unavailable at the specified date and time.  We at Getz Funeral home highly regard the flag of The United States of America as a symbol of those who have fought and sacrificed for our freedom.  While we understand that there are no redoes in funeral service, we have and will continue to offer to schedule military honors for the family.

      I am the President of the Getz Funeral Home inc., and Chad is the Vice-President and General Manager. I have been in Funeral Service for 56 years and I am in the process of retiring. I am sorry that I did not immediately reply to the complaint as I no longer work Funeral Services or come into the Funeral Home very often.

      The loss of a parent, or any family member is devastating, and we strive to help each and every family with respect, honor and kindness.
