Sending buyer to another dealership without paying for problems that started when I bought the car.

      When Mr. ********* purchased the vehicle, he also purchased an extended service contract that has a 200.00 deductible. When he had a problem with the vehicle, we set an appointment with the volkswagen dealer in Albuquerque because the vehicle is still under factory warranty and Mr. ********* would not have to pay the 200.00 deductible. As it turns out, the problem that he was experiencing was not covered under warranty because the part was damaged and not a defective part. We did provide him with a loaner vehicle while the vehicle was in our shop for diagnosis.  


      The Volkswagen does have some aftermarket exhaust parts, but that does not affect the warranty. 


      After receiving this complaint, we contacted Mr. ********* and explained this to him and we think the issue has been resolved.

      We purchased a new vehicle from Melloy Chevrolet. The service engine light came on a few days later. We have been going back in forth between Ganado, Arizona and Los Lunes, New Mexico to have this problem corrected. To date they are probably billing GM for the services rendered. Never gave us a copy of what services were performed. The service department are not help at all and hard to work with. They knew about this problem and should have gave us another vehicle that did not have any problems.

      I am sorry that you had to bring your vehicle in multiple times. In this case, we were not able to diagnose the problem because the check engine light was not on when the vehicle came to us. We drove the vehicle several times but the light did not come on. We were finally able to trace the problem to an electrical problem. The vehicle has now been repaired and the owners have picked it up. Please understand that the dealership does not benefit from a vehicle having to be brought back several times. We strive to dignose and repair a vehicle on the first visit.

      My husband's Chevy Cruze broke down on July 5th while he was driving down to Texas for his deployment & it was towed to this dealership. It has now been over 10 weeks and we still do not have our car back. When they got into the car and found out was wrong, we paid in full to get it done. They said it would 7 to 14 business days to get the parts in and would take about a week or two to fix the car. Ever since, they told us we owe them a lot more money than what they originally quoted us. They have continuously lied to us about when the vehicle will be done & they keep changing their story about why it's taking so long. They keep finding other parts that need to be replaced & they wont return our calls. I am 12 hours away and my husband is 3 hours away. They are taking advantage of our situation & it's not right.

      The customer has now picked up their vehicle. We explained that there were back order parts issues. We further explained that we had to perform certain repairs before we could tell if there were going to be additional repairs needed.
