Do not use this company. If I could do Zero stars I would. I hired them for a Shower Remodel in July 2023, the initial quote was $8,000 then, it was going to be $16,000 and then it was $24,000. As of today, the shower is still not done. They have a million excuses for why, including blaming the customer. But the fact is, they are unprofessional and don't know what they are doing. When I asked for a partial refund, they told me to file a complaint with the ************************ and to *** them. They claimed the reason they couldn't finish the job after 8 months was because of our availability to give them access to the job site. I have made myself available to make sure they had *********** and on weekends. After 3 weeks, we still aren't even close to being finished. They didn't work weekends, and only work 3 days a week at the most. The bathroom is unusable and the owner, *** and his son ********* are completely unapologetic. I put on ****** list for someone to contact me concerning my hot water heater. A gentleman called within half an hour from Genesis offering to swing by. I told him I could not meet him at that time, but we could meet at 4:30. Well in the meantime I went home and was able to get the hot water heater working. So I texted him at 1:41 PM leaving a message telling him not to come by but thanks anyways, well he goes by at my house at 4:30 anyways. My son tells him that I was no longer there and that the hot water heater is working now, but thank you. Well 4 or 5 of them sat out front of my house for half an hour. They were in older dodge Durango and a ***** year old ******** and just sat there for no reason. Typically when a plumber comes to your house its one person in a work truck or van. Well about 5:30 this afternoon I get a text from this gentleman stating he was going to charge me $285 for the canceled appointment and that if I didnt pay he would place a lien on my property. After receiving his text I responded that he must have lost his mind. Since then hes called me at least 4 or 5 times this evening, . And he is saying he will place a lien. . Well he is barking up the wrong tree. I have been a licensed contractor in NM for 30 years (although currently not practicing). He cannot place a lien under these conditions. There are circumstances in which a company can charge for a cancelled appt but only when they have given you their cancellation policy and they have to give all their customers the same policy. I did explain to him he is welcome to meet me once I get back to town and discuss the invoice which I will never pay. After reading all the online comments they are obviously just thugs and punk hoping to strong arm money out of people. They will find out I am the wrong Cowboy. I doubt they even have a license. I will contact the state licensing division and will also contact ****** List and inform them. Spread the word.Review from Edwardo D

BEWARE of these scammers. They prey on uninformed or elderly New Mexico residents. Check the owner of this company (Lee R*****) on the New Mexico ****** ******. He continues to be sued for faulty and illegal work. Please do your best in warning others of this man and his crew.Review from Christine L

Genesis design mechanical came to my house after saying by phone they could replace a broken sylinoid for $150.00. That price escalated to $800.00. I said I could not afford that and the Owner said he could fix it for a flat $500.00 and he would replace all four splinters, go through the whole system, reset the timer, repair all the emitters by soaking them in vinegar and then replacing them and replace what ever that didnt fix. Then after bullying me out of a check for $700.00 as the price was a moving target, I realized they had not completed the work and had no intention of completing the work because they did not show up the next morning like they said they would. So I put a stop payment on the check. Also the work they did on my system leaks like a sieve and to repair their shoddy work Im being told it will cost me $2000.00. The owner and his son just showed up banging on my door threatening me with hostility and threats. Unbelievably lacking in any good faith for their quality of work. Threatening an older retired woman. Im filing a police report!!

Beware of this lady. Her neighbors stated to us yesterday when we went to collect our money from the bad check she gave us when we completed the job. She was very happy and then when the check bounced, she started complaining about the work we did. Her neighbor next door told us that the ************************** ********************** are currently investigating ************************************* for several hot checks and forgery, has been out to her house to speak her and she won't open the door. we are going to turn her bad check over to the ************************** for prosecution. She is FRAUD. We went yesterday to collect on the Bad Check and we were very polite to **********************. She was upset because we told her we are turning her bad check over to the ************************** in Bernalillo County. The Amount she owes us is $800. I understand that a check over $250 is a felony. thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond.We never threaten her. We were very polite to her just trying to collect our money.Review from I. Genesis Design Mechanical came to my house in December 2021 to replace my water heater and get everything up to code. 5 months later Im still waiting for them to finish the job. After several calls, voice messages, and text messages ( one no show and one cancellation an hour after they were scheduled to be at house) they finally came out April 26, 2022 (an hour and half late) to finish installing the straps, expansion tank, water leak alarm, get the vents up to code and pick up my old water heater. Well, they did the straps (crappy job according to the inspector) and the expansion tank. They asked if they could leave the old water heater (again) and a cousin will pick it up, since they didnt have room in their vehicle I trusted them once again and its still sitting outside by my trash can.I took a pic of the correction notice the inspector gave me and sent it to **************** on April 29, 2022 and as of May 6, 2022 I havent received a response. My biggest regret is paying **************** the whole amount up front and trusting he and/or his son would finish the job.Genesis Design Mechanical, LLC Response

I do Apologize to ****************** and unfortunately, at the time we paid for and applied for the permit, I filed with the ******************* and her house is in Bernalillo County. It took a bit of time to get the permitting set right. It has been corrected at this time and all that is left is to make a minor change which in no way compromises the customers safety. It is simply a code violation that the county has in place that *********** does not require. we will be in touch with her to get it resolved by the end of the first week of June due to the short staff we are have. We do apologize for this inconveience and are making a effort to get this issue resolved soon.Customer Response

Its June 14, 2022 and I still have NOT heard from ****************. Yes, **************** was under the impression that I lived in the ******************* when he first came to my house to give me a quote and at that time he mentioned to his son and myself that the venting system wasn't up to code and they would have to get it replaced for it to pass inspection. So, regardless if I live in the city or the county- **************** was fully aware on what needed to be done to pass inspection. Therefore, ******************** comment about "it is simply a code violation that the county has in place that the city does not require" is a flat out lie! What still needs to be corrected might not "compromise" my safety, but by not plugging the hole in the pan or installing a water alarm (which I believe is a very basic step when it comes to installing a water heater by a person who claims they're a "professional plumber" ) I could potentially be in the same situation I was the first time my water heater leaked. And, furthermore, since there is only minor changes that need to be done --WHY not come and finish the job or refund me what it will cost to finish getting my water heater up to code! I don't understand!
