All agreements were verbal; therefore, no written contract was provided by contractor. March/April 2020 – I hired Ramon D. B***** (goes by Joseph B*****) “Contractor”, initially to replace the roof at **** ******* **** in Santa Fe, NM. The first half of the roof was completed with no issue. For the second half of the roofing project, I paid cash in advance in amount of $6,135, which included $545 for repair of interior dining room ceiling for a water leak; and to texture and paint dining room and living room ceilings. The repair of ceiling, texture and paint was never completed. Contractor was notified of a leak in the garage after completing the second portion of the roof. The leak has gone unfixed, causing damage to the roof joints and many personal items that are stored. June 22, 2020 – Contractor agreed to install main water shut-off for $1,250. This amount was paid cash in advance and never installed. I also paid $125 cash in advance for one bathroom tub nozzle and parts to be replaced for guest bathtub. Job was never completed. Contractor neglected his commitment to complete jobs agreed upon and always insisted on cash only for all jobs and wouldn’t accept Cashier’s Checks. I paid cash upfront because I trusted “Joseph” B*****. I have been attempting to resolve problem for over a year to get services rendered or money refunded to no avail. Contractor has failed to take responsibility on these projects and therefore, I am demanding a full refund of $1,920 for services not completed. Deadlines were clearly communicated, and I repeatedly asked Ramon D. B***** on a monthly basis, over the phone and through text messages to please complete jobs agreed upon. At the beginning of the first project, I asked for an itemized list of what was done on roof and roofing materials used, however requests have been disregarded. Repair of dining room, texture/paint living and dining room ceilings: 545.00 Water shut-off valve: 1,250.00; Bathtub nozzle: 125.00= $1,920
