Business owner installed a motherboard into my computer. He also installed a graphics card that was 8 years old, used, and probably worth $50. He then charged me $150 for it. I asked if he could give me a refund for it and he agreed. He also said I could use the graphics card until I bought a new one and installed it. He provided no date of when it should be completed and he did not state any money was needed to refund the card. This transaction was completed May 4th 2022. I contacted him again on June 10th, and he never responded. on June 17th he said he would still do the refund, and asked if I wanted him to install it. I said no and he never responded after that. on July 5th I messaged him again saying I had installed the card and wanted to know if he would pick it up. I continued to message him with no response. On August 25th I scheduled an appointment online instead as he still was refusing to respond. He then came to my house on the 26th and gave me $100, which was not the original cost of $150. I told him I wanted the full amount, and he refused saying he doesn't work for free. I told him I had paid him the cost of his service at the time of the transaction, so it was not faulty. He then said it was a "restocking fee. He then called me entitled and told me to "quit my ********." I messaged him one final time telling him this was unfair and he never stated that there would be any additional fees. He has never responded to me since. I want the remaining amount of $50 for the card refunded to me.Business response

This is a response to ******* *******’s complaint:
The client makes the claim that there was no date or time frame given for returning the card. I clearly
told her in person that if she wanted to return the card, it would have to be within 2 weeks. She said
that should not be a problem. I also looked up the value of the card at the time of installing it into her
computer. Normally I would wait for the client to purchase the video card, but she was in a hurry to get
it back up and running. At that time it was worth over $140. I told her at the time of transaction that the
$150 I charged her included a labor fee of $50. The client did not contact me for 6 weeks. It did take me
a while to get back to her as I have been very busy with work. When I did give her a refund, it was for
the $100 minus the labor fee. When she didn’t accept my answer, I said fine, we will call it a restock fee.
I go out of my way to treat all of my customers great. I pick up computers, repair them, and drop them
off at the client’s house or wherever they would like to meet. And in her case I drove out to her house to
give her the $100 refund. I cannot give clients labor fees back. This particular client demonstrated that
she did not respect the conveniences I provide nor the labor fees involved in that service.
