      I was assured that purchasing a top-level week would allow me easy exchange between resorts, specifically for a ski trip. However, this has not been my experience. Every time I have tried to schedule a week through the exchange system, I have been informed that the resort I am trying to book has no rooms available. The only available option is always redirected to Crown Point, despite my preference for other locations. I was told that this purchase would be a good investment and that selling my week would not be difficult. Unfortunately, it has been quite the contrary. I have listed my week for sale numerous times, but there have been no offers. When we bought it this week, it was intended for family snow ski trips. However, our family no longer engages in skiing and the area does not offer any other alternate entertainment value that suits our interests.In addition to this, I am now retired and on a fixed income. The maintenance fees have reached a level that is causing me financial strain. I will not wish to burden my children with this lifelong debt. Due to all these issues, we deserve to be released immediately from this contract. Please have someone reach out to us as soon as possible to let us know how we can proceed with terminating this ownership.

      My mother purchased a week at one unit at Crown Point in Ruidoso condo about 30 years ago. She paid off the loan and paid the yearly Maintenace fee on time for all those years. When she got to be in her 80s, she was unable to pay the ever-increasing yearly "maintenance" fee which had increased many times from what it was when she first got the time share. She contacted Crown Point and explained the situation and their response was essentially to say "We don't care." They said they had no sales office to resell the week she had: this seems odd since other people I know at different Time Shares had no problem giving back their unit's week to the respective Time share company. I called the membership manager for her and got the same reply.In any event, they did not want to take back her week. She did not want any money, she just wanted to give back the time in this one unit since she did not have the money to pay the yearly fee. Since she had no money to pay the yearly fee she stopped paying and wrote a couple more letters explaining her situation again in response to their ongoing bills. After she passed away, I returned one of their bills with a note letting them know she had passed away. The bills kept coming. A year after her death they gave her account to a collection's agency, and I received a letter, since I was receiving her mail, asking for payment!Beware of buying anything from these people as they will never let you get out of it. Unlike respectable Time Shares who will often take back your week and resell. It these people are either unwilling or incapable of doing that.

      Hello and thank you for your comments. Unfortunately, I do not know what transpired with this interval. Her unit at the property is a fractional ownership of real property, just like ownership in a house. Deeds can not just be given back as with a home, they must be sold or transferred. Now that she has passes, you can send a copy of the death certificate to us and we can code the account as uncollectible, deceased. I handle the on property deed issues and do not recall talking to you. I can assure you that I would never have said "I don't care". Please note that this is a legal deed and we can not just make it vanish. There are options, had you spoken with me where we could have helped arrange a private sale as we do not have an active sales department.I am sorry for your experience and please send the death certificate so we can close this issue for you.
