I am very unhappy with the recent service (or lack thereof) that I received from *******************************. I manage a small residential business in ********, and we needed someone to come out and help us fix our electric gas fireplace. My boss/homeowner was present at the inspection, and I was very displeased to hear that they did not even touch the fireplace, yet I was sent a $197 invoice. On their service report, their issue reads as follows: ** listing on existing unit is expired or close to expiration. The assumption that the ** listing was expired was their reasoning for not touching it. How they know the ** listing is expired without the model #, serial # or touching it is not only beyond me but is the reason for my review today. Their basic level I inspection is defined as Readily accessible areas are those areas that can be reached for inspection or maintenance without the use of tools or ladders. Had I known they were just going to look at it for 20 minutes and not touch anything then leave, I wouldnt have hired them. My expectation for this visit was to get to the bottom of why the fireplace wasnt working and see if we needed to get the insert removed and replaced. They did not investigate the initial issue and gave us a $10,000 verbal quote to replace the insert. They did not provide any service to us, yet I am paying a service fee. I spoke with them of my dissatisfaction and told them I wouldnt mind paying their travel, but I didnt feel I should pay the full $197. My revised invoice for their travel was $97. They are local in ********. We hired a different company a few days later and that gentleman fixed the issue in less than 30 minutes. *** spent more time disputing the lack of service with ******************************************* than getting any actual service from them. If you choose to hire *******************************, ask for literature from them beforehand that will properly prepare you for their visit as their website has none of this information.
