My lawyer' response was that I had just found another crooked contractor in ********. Having given them $13000 in business over the past two years that I was satisfied with and thinking them honorable, I accepted the in-person quote for $3600 for a reverse osmosis filter system, After the fact, I checked on the cost of the system at retail and the hours of labor and figured that the total should have been around $1500. Two-phone calls. two e-mails and a snail mail letter asking for a detailed work order/invoice were ignored or stone-walled.

If I could do less than 1 star I would. I was always happy with this company until a recent job they did on my office building. I never received an invoice for this job and have been calling for past 3-4 weeks to talk to the owner of the Santa Fe shop. No response. I called twice today to find out owner is on vacation and no one knows of his return date. They also notified me that they dont provide invoices until job is paid for. I dont know any company that has done this. In addition, no one informed me of their higher rates to come out. Ive used these guys before. Was never charged $250 an hour. I wanted the owner to call me regarding this issue. I left another message for the owner to call me back. No one can help me. Im on their list of no service until invoice is paid for. Not to mention we are still having issues with no heat. The last tech didnt fix anything. This is wrong.

I had the worst experience with Cartwright's Plumbing & Heating. I called the office and specifically asked them if they had experience with ********** split level heating units with a roof compressor unit. They told me that they regularly serviced these types of systems, so I made an appointment. When the technicians showed up, they clearly had little to no understanding of this system. While they were there, I asked them to light a pilot light on a gas unit, which they did. However, the pilot light that was lit went out within 48 hours. So I feel I paid $226 to light a pilot light and they did NOTHING related to my split level heating system. When I called to find out if they could rectify this situation, all I got was an answer of: "So sorry you feel that way". This is not a way to do business. Therefore I would NOT recommend this company for even the most simple of systems.

Beware. We had over a 5 year relationship with Cartwrights handling our seasonal maintenance of our evaporative cooling. And recently replaced our hot water heater for $2500. At our spring maintenance I had a a thermostat replaced for the radiant heater for $120. At our fall maintenance we had turned it on for the first time and it wasnt working. We asked them to check it at our fall A/C maintenance and was told it was a valve on the boiler. They asked for $800 for the fall maintenance and I told them that we paid for both seasons and the thermostat at the spring visit. They said they had no record of it and I assumed I was wrong. They subsequently found the payment. When they returned to replace the valve for the radiant heat, they found the problem to be with the thermostat installed in the spring. They replaced it and told us we had never paid in the first place and it would be over $500 after they had already replaced it. I was quoted $120 in the spring. I told them that was outrageous and would not pay that much for a thermostat they were replacing that took literally 5min to snap on. They removed it and left, then sent us a client dismissal email. I have subsequently found the thermostat for $29 and installed it in 5 minutes. We have spent 5 years clearly overpaying them as loyal customers. Avoid them and find someone more reputable !
